I listen to his show...havent visited the website in years. The website was better originally when it had beisner. But I'm guessing Jones screwed him over. The writing now is just free labor from college writers and that Tyler lady has always sucked...she tries too hard. Not even sure what Franklin does, hes funny some times tho. Lemond is a super nice guy...but he literally just repeats what matt says.
I've noticed it seeks more rural ppl are into jones as they see him as a local celebrity or something...but no one cares about him in lex or lou. Hes pretty much an uncoordinated douche nerd that's known for screwing over local businesses in various ways. He also once asked a former walk on to fill in on the show a few years back, promised to pay him like 2k for it then didnt pay him. When said walk on continued to press him about it he finally gave him a couple 100 dollars.
I dont care what he thinks politically..his opinion doesnt matter, and his knowledge is to the extent of what mainstream media reports..which is tribalistic narrative.
With all that said...as much as jurich tried to get him shut down and as much as he triggered uofl fans...that was a positive. Plus hes not as delusional as pep squeak and captain suntan or whatever they're called.

I guess I’m one of the oddballs that is truly indifferent. He’s clearly bright, not only got into Duke law, but finished second in his class. And figured out out to make a living from being a UK fan. Millions of folks in BBN, he’s the one who built that into a business. More power to him. But really smart people are like everyone else, they are good at some things and bad at other things. What is interesting is the things he is bad at are the basic skills required for what he now does. He’s really a mediocre writer, especially for a lawyer - but got his start writing a blog. He isn’t a very captivating speaker - but hosts a radio show, which is premised on him speaking for 2 hours a day. He doesn’t exactly have what you’d call a radio voice, he seems rude to his callers....Anyway, interesting he picked a career path requiring the exact things he doesn’t do very well, and yet has succeeded wildly. Good for him.

- Dislike KSR's website as I think it tailors to a younger crowd
- Don't listen to his radio show except when I'm driving home from a football game
- Never get to listen to his radio show
- Never been to his restaurant
- Respect the hell out of what he's built and done
- People are jealous of him - Hell, I'd love to get paid to do what he does
I've heard Maxine Waters and Occasional Cortex denounce critics as simply jealous buffoons. That tactic usually fails miserably. But what do I care? The Earth is ending in 12 years. Well, except that the Hans Tausen Glacier currently located in northern Greenland is covering up a forest that was growing there 3,000 years ago, and there is no evidence of the world being flooded at that time. The Pyramids, built at that time, apparently were not intended to be life rafts. Who'd have thunk they'd drill a core sample through the glacier and carbon date plant life under the Hans Tausen to 4,500 to 3,000 years ago?
Criticism, even hostile criticism, is usually not an expression of jealousy, in my experience. Claims of jealousy are usually just a way of attempting to silence the critic, when the claimant has no other response.

The fact that the radio show keeps me updated on UK sports and he gets access to players and coaches keeps me listening. His other stuff can be entertaining as well. Could give a shit about his views just want entertainment during my boring ass morning. My son says him and some other cats fans in Iraq listen to feel like they’re part of UK over there. What would y’all like KSR to do?
MJ is a smart and successful entrepreneur.... While I don't always listen to Kentucky based sports shows on any media when I do it's most often KSR...
If there is a sports news event that I wanna know more about I tune in to KSR in some form... Many don't like him because of what they see, hear via his time on radio/TV. I think the same things that many don't like are the same things that make him successful in his businesses. I'm old enough to be his grandad... It's okay for people to not like the guy... Probably good for his business we are all talking about him... But he is a UK fan and that's where the common ground lies and makes MJ tolerable....

Nope. Never been a fan since he started his website and stole info. Never listen to his show and only visit the website if he has real breaking news. He does have connections at UK so he does get good info.

Matt doesn't align with some people's politics so they trash him in all other aspects accordingly. It's the American way now.
Haven't listened to his show in about 2 years. Not necessarily because I don't like him, I just got bored with it. I find the Midday Rush much more entertaining (and they have much fewer commercials)

However, I do like to tune in to his pre and post game shows (when he is actually the one hosting it). Unlike a lot of others, I do like Ryan as a co-host....... but not if he has to carry an entire show.

Well....just heard him pushing his climate change ideas based on tornadoes hitting near Paducah, which he seems to believe it is a first caused by climate change. Got news for you Matty.......it has been happening since at least the mid 70's.

I read KSR religiously. Literally check it 10 times a day or so. But, KSR and the Paddock are the only UK sites I visit. I do visit Bleacher Report.
I don't listen to the radio show. I think Jones is his own biggest fan. Met Tyler while running the Nashville marathon in 2016 (she was running the half).
The new writers? They seem better at football than basketball. That's not great. I'd prefer a better recruiting writer. That's really my primary interest.

I respect MJ for working hard. He showed a lot of guts leaving the legal profession to pursue doing what he wanted to do. I'd encourage any young person to show as much drive and resolve.
I listen occasionally. Sometimes he's entertaining, other times the content is boring. His political views are contrary to "right" thinking. Obviously he's smart but, IMO, he has demonstrated nothing that would lead me to consider voting for him for any political office.

FIFY I suppose it's a case of monkey see, monkey do. He sees that ESPN is injecting politics into sports, so he apes them. I've never heard Jones speak a word, so I don't know what his politics are. From reading CI, I gather he's a socialist, since he has reneged on paying his help. Occasional Cortex has gained some fame for the same thing.

Matt has taken nothing and turned it into something. I disagree with his politics, but envy his spirit and determination.
They claim jealousy because they idolize him. They are such dimwits that that’s the only reason they can come up with as to why anyone would dislike their lying, cheating idol.
He seems to care about his community (especially Eastern KY) and is a proponent of government transparency. I don't see how that is bad politics.
