SECT: The Cats could get to the No. 5 spot with a 2-0 record this week. The Cats could get to the No. 11 spot with an 0-2 record.

Jimmy Dykes loves Cal and is in Hog Heaven with him being in Fayetteville. Conversely, he has no use for UK because we ran off his guy. Announcers just can’t let go of their personal biases.

Dykes is from Arkansas, played there, and was the head coach for the women's team a bit later in life at Arkansas. He is a big Arkansas fan. I don't think he has personal attachment to Calipari, other than probably wanting Arkansas to succeed, just like Goose Givens wants UK to succeed.

However, he also coached here, following Sutton from Arkansas. He's always been very fond of Kentucky.

Ole Miss has Tenn and Florida left - they are a 7 seed. So we probably aren't going to lose anything to them. MIss State is the 9 seed though and only have Oklahoma and Texas.

To get up to a 5-seed in SEC-T, we would need:
- UK go 2-0
- Missouri to lose @ Okl
- Ole Miss to lose to UT and @ Florida
- TAMU to lose to Auburn or @ LSU
Also if Ole Miss goes 1-1, we still may have a chance depending on the 2nd/3rd/4th level tiebreakers

Most likely result.
We go 1-1 and end up an 8 seed in this.
It really depends ironically might need Ole Miss to win 1 of their final 2 for Kentucky to be 8 seed should Ole Miss lose both and then we tie with Miss State then Miss State jumps to the 7, Ole Miss 8 and we end up 9th

If Ole Miss wins 1 game and ends up 7th or higher then we win tie over Miss State we get 8th

Now throw Vandy into the mix as 3/4 way ties.

FWIW it looks like on Kenpom the predicted final standings look a little like this:

Ole Miss 10-8
UK 9-9
Miss St 9-9
Vandy 9-9.

Tho Ole has Florida and UT so that might not be easy. Could def drop to 9-9 IMO.
Miss St got Texas/Arkansas. Should beat Texas at home but the road game in Arkansas could be a coin flip.
Vandy has Arkansas/Georgia. Two coin flip games.

Maybe we'll go 2-0 and make this a moot point lol.

Don't really care about the SECT with our injuries, just doesnt offer much for us.. at the absolute best case scenario, we win the whole thing and maybe we somehow make a 2-seed because of that (really think this has a 0% chance of happening.. at worst, all this does is just wear down our already gassed team and we sustain more injuries.

The second we are locked into a 3-seed, we could forfeit our next SECT game for all I care.
I was just thinking about the same thing. Ohio St. missed the conference championship and rested and ran thru the playoffs. I think if we go 1-1 to finish the season and tournament we will be a 4 seed worse case. I agree, once the numbers show a 3 seed, pull back the horses and get a good couple more days of rest for the tournament that matters and we play less of a hard gauntlet of games to win it all!

Miss State is like our key

If the above is true Kentucky is the 8

If all 4 are tied at 9-9 Kentucky is the 8

But if Miss State goes 10-8 or 8-10 and it is a 3 way tie with us Ole Miss and Vandy we drop to the 10 seed.
