Sarr officially in transfer portal

For us though, we grew up without it existing. The generation of kids now are much more in tune with what social media is and how it works and are much more clever than we give them credit. It's like pop-ups on a computer. I know not to click on it, but my dad can't stop himself.

Oh definitely. I’m 36 so I’ve been around social media/ Facebook/ Instagram etc and even use them to an extent. Mostly Instagram and Facebook for pictures and my family has a Snapchat group chat which is cool.

Twitter tho man. Sheesh. So much hate spewed. So much vitriol. It’s filled with out of touch, wOkEneSS and hypocrisy.

Come on up big man, we got 30 minutes a game with your name on it.

Presuming he's allowed to play next season.

A lot of folks here appear to be jumping the gun presuming he'll be eligible. Remember, under current rules he has to sit out next season, and there's no guarantee his waiver request will be granted.

I’m of the minority that is actually pretty high on this team and believe they’re already an EE team. With the addition of Sarr, the lack of dominant teams again this upcoming season, plus the lack of the presence of a big man in CBB makes next years team the fav with him aboard.

He'll get the Quade/Jermarl treatment, and those guys didn't even have their coach fired.

We are UK

Those are distinctly different situations.

Jemarl got his waiver based on the special circumstances that he'd already been forced to sit out an entire season due to injury, and thus forcing him to sit out a second season, and losing an overall year of eligibility, would be fundamentally unfair comparative to other transfers. And Quade also had the grounds that he'd already sat out nearly the entire prior season (plus he only got a one semester waiver, he would've been eligible in December regardless). Those special circumstances do not apply to Sarr.

And, fwiw, lots of players have been denied a waiver after their coach is fired. A coaching change alone has traditionally NOT been sufficient grounds to ensure a waiver.

I don't know if Sarr's got legit grounds or not, but I will say the people in this thread acting like a waiver is a done deal for him may be setting themselves up for disappointment.

Anselem seems unlikely to come here, even as a multi year player with Sarr and Maker both likely in front of him now.

" IF " Maker was to commit to UK before Sarr makes a decision would Sarr still think about coming to UK ?

End of year lineup lol

Askew
Boston
Clarke
Brooks
Sarrs

First off bench: Jackson, Mintz, Allen
Reserves: Ware, Fletcher, (Toppin, Anselem)

How's that?
Works for me! Although, I still suspect that Mintz is the starting PG all year long.

I think Askew will still play a ton (probably more than he should have to) out of necessity, and then be ready for a super Sophomore year. If that's the case, I'll be ecstatic to have a college-hardened PG to begin the 2021-22 season, and won't care if it scares off every PG in the 2021 class.

Because Cal gets heavily criticized anytime he does anything that even approaches that crooked line. It's been proven time and time again. Cal has to walk a very straight line and even then, he gets criticized by the media and other coaches… .. until someone else does tge same thing. Then it's fine.

You are very trusting. We need more people like you and less doubters like me.

When asked about uk fans flocking to his twitter
"I've never experienced anything like that; it was crazy," he said. "It was funny and all that, but it got to a point where it was a little bit too much. Some Wake fans replied. I loved the loyalty from the Deacon fans. I love them, I appreciate what they did for me for three years. But Kentucky fans are really eager and thirsty for players."

That's what Saban does in football. You get fired...well come be an "analyst" for me. He's played in that gray area and gotten away with the # of coaches limit. Why can't UK/Cal do the same?
I am actually an unpaid analyst for Mark Stoops and John Calipari. It's good work if you can get it.

Good thing he will likely base his decision on his interaction with Calipari and the team and not some fans on Twitter.

You really think if Cal does a gives him the perfect sales pitch and Sarrs believes he will have plenty of playing time on a national contender, that he is going to turn down that offer cause he thinks some of out fans are thirsty???

This all comes down to how comfortable he feels playing for Calipari with our roster . And how comfortable he is being in the spot light

What sucks is none of these guys that are transferring can visit the campus and get a really good feel for what it would be like to play for the University of Kentucky Wildcats!
