I'll try to distinguish what I wrote so as to be more clear.
I do think anyone who's saying "we have enough" - if in reference to having enough to compete for a title - is naive and worthy of having their position resoundingly rebutted.
Since you originally quoted my post, I replied to your accusation of "crying" by responding to what my position actually is - which is one that tempers expectations based on the quality of our present roster. I do not think we have enough to win a title, but also don't think we'll be "awful".
I never said we would be awful. I think it's more reasonable to expect a Sweet Sixteenish outcome, 24 to 27 wins, finish top 3 in the SEC, ranked around 10-15 at the time of Selection Sunday.
But since dealing in vague statements is not serving either of us well on this matter, I'll ask you directly - do you think the present roster, without any other additions, "has enough" to seriously compete for a national championship?
And I guess Brooks goes on the bench?
yep
he will still get 25 minutes a game
IMHO Maker never plays college bb
and some will still be begging for Cal to cheat
then when we get caught they will be the first in line screaming "FIRE CAL"
what makes you think the fbi is still snooping around? thats the only way any of these schools got caught and the ncaa is still looking like they'll let those teams slide.
how did you twist and spin that out of what i said?
are you in the small group that are begging for UK/Cal to cheat?
other than the FBI, bag men havent been caught yet in either of the main sports..... so yeah. pay the players the money they deserve.
The NCAA better get wise real quick and grant waivers for guys like this that if denied will end up overseas or in the G league that is putting a lot of pressure on college BB as it is. They can improve college BB or lose another guy to the pros because he already said he ain't sitting out.
so you are in that small group that wants UK/Cal to cheat like ul did
no, cheat like duke or bama football..... bag men...
you're paranoid if you think Cal's dumb enough to get caught... he never got caught at Memphis and every recruiting guy knows fed ex bought them players... the ncaa could never find proof.
I think with Green, Nix, and Todd all jumping to the G League it's going to start to add up. I don't have any faith in them either, but that ivory tower is already cracking and they better change or they will end up buried in the rubble.Do you really think these NCAA guys sitting in their ivory towers even care or are in touch with what is going on?
Until they actually feel the sting in their pocket books, they will not care and will not do anything about it.
People like that do not react until it’s already too late and the problem has already smacked them in the face.
Most of us are just going by what Cal has told us. You are a fraud if you don't have a legit post game. He's right. If you don't have a post game, you are missing an important dimension on both ends of the court.I don't feel as confident as I could be without a decent true center, but yes it's possible. I have "felt" like we had a chance every year Cal has been here. I mean some act like we have no chance unless we field a virtual NBA level starting five. (Lord this fanbase is spoiled.) To repeat a recently way overly used quote, "you go to war with the army you have, not the one you wished you had."
It would help if the NCAA was at least somewhat consistent. It's like they use a lotto ball machine to make decisions. Jermarl Baker got to play immediately at Arizona, but UVA and MSU couldn’t play the brothers that transferred from Marquette. The NCAA better get wise real quick and grant waivers for guys like this that if denied will end up overseas or in the G league that is putting a lot of pressure on college BB as it is. They can improve college BB or lose another guy to the pros because he already said he ain't sitting out.

Not like Louisville did.
More like how Kentucky did it in the 90s with Mercer and Anderson.
for the third time show the proof you promised
so no proof just someones opinionI never promised proof.
If you were around back then, you would know these things because everyone talked about them.
But part of the genius of the system is not having a paper trail, or what you would call "proof". I think we should the same with promising recruits.
so no proof just someones opinion
gotcha
So no "proof" on Duke either?
Coach K must be clean as a virgin's honey butter then.
Kind of wierd to me that Sarr would consider staying at Wake and losing a ton of games when he has the opportunity to make a serious run at the national championship here. Oh well.
Who is begging. Maybe you?I never would have thought we would have to pray and hope players from other schools would come here. Or losing a bum player people want to BYU
Well it sure sounds like the new Wake coach didn't change his mind.
I wonder if that school is in Lexington, KY with a BIG hole at the 5 spot? And it Begins. What school has the hottest French translator with the best coach with the best chance to win a title???
The dude is taking shots at Uk and we haven't even been officially linked to Sarr yet have we? That right there shows you he's scared and of who. Maybe rumblings behind the scenes to bring us up out of the blue and take a cheap shot.

Can’t he just choose Kentucky and if he isn’t approved a waiver, he go back to wake forest? The problem is that UK and Sarr don't know if he would be eligible if he leaves Wake. He 100% knows he can play if he stays there. Does he take the chance and go elsewhere and then possibly not be able to play?
He would really have to want to leave Wake to take that chance, IMO.
If he transfers and isn't given a waiver why can't he just then leave school and sign with an European team? The problem is that UK and Sarr don't know if he would be eligible if he leaves Wake. I'm just curious as to why there is doubt that he will be ineligible.

He doesn’t have to unenroll and he can wait to enroll to Kentucky in August. Depending on how fast they make a decision.
