Whether he likes him personally -- sure, seems like it. Got told that he's not currently putting Cal in the drivers seat and has some reservations about RJ at UK. Just passing that along.
I actually think this is why poor King couldn't get an offer after he played amazing in front of Cal and did everything short of getting on his hands and knees begging for an offer.

It's flip flopped a few times. Back in March it was 0% chance Reddish would consider UK, and Cal was apparently doing really well with Barrett. Leading possibly. For some reason that shifted the other way, even prior to U19.

Cal doesn't flip/ flop once, not to mention a few times. Your story loses credibility after that. You state as if Cal compares to your coach standards. He does not.

ThIs early in a recruitment it would be diplomatic to be complimentary towards all the potential suitors. Barrett's father works in the basketball world and would be smart enough to not burn any bridges.
So the truth is that he likes Cal or he doesn't. Can't really see him voicing the latter even if it was true.

I know some of you don't like Matt Jones but he does have sources. And on his show this morning said UK WILL get Quickley, Zion AND. RJ Barrett!

My understanding that outside of bigs, which are few and far between in this class, the class overall is decent.

The stuff changes every day. Shouldn't come as a shock. My wording was poor. I was told that Cal was 'being kept away' from RJ prior to U19. That could've meant all coaches, who knows, but that was the phrasing. Face value means very little, we know that by now. I mean, obviously I want the kid at UK.
Same person told me the Zion momentum had swung prior to U19 as well and that came true. Certainly seems possible that the moment Quickley got in proximity with Cal, he made his mind up and the dialogue with Zion started. I'm not a 'sources person' at all. Not in the know.
