Possibly if he murdered someone and it was on videotape with irrefutable evidence. Otherwise, they have proven that they will buy what he is selling no matter the circumstance. Truly blind faith.

He went on his blog today and posted that he skipped the press conference as his trips to Rupp are just too emotional. Basically like telling your current wife/girlfriend that you can't be around your ex because you still have feelings for her. Pitino knows he screwed up leaving here and has even told the Louisville fans the same yet they still accept him with open arms. That along with his many transgressions as a coach, there is certainly nothing I can see that would make them turn on him.

Who would have thought that from 1989-1997 when Pitino was coaching here, and was the biggest thing in this state & in college basketball. That one day the last thing we would see of Pitino coaching in Rupp Arena would be of him walking off the court in defeat with his middle finger stuck up. What a sad, sad, pathetic bitter man he has become. All because he is living with so many regrets. He regrets leaving UK, he regrets Karen Sypher, & I bet if he knew in 2001 what he knows today he would have never taken the UofL job. He has no one to blame but himself for how his career is ending, & for him to see the success that Calipari & UK is having, its eating him alive.

Average coach? Please. His results destroy your argument. Name another coach in college basketball that has beaten more higher seeds in the NCAA tournament? And how exactly do you include his seventh year when it isn't even finished yet?
Fickus is always taking up for UL, and taking little subtle shots at UK. I've always said he was a UL troll posing as a UK fan.

Ville77, didn't pitino take david Padgett (the #1 rated center in hs), taquan dean, terrence williams, Brandon jenkins (the 6th rated pg) and others to the nit....uofl fans act like Rick pulls players out of trash cans and teaches them to play.

Cal beats Rick because he has better players most years. Pretty simple! Cal the recruiter is much better than Rick the recruiter. Because Rick is playing with less talented players and they never are playing in top form in December. Pretty sure the one year RIck has better players UL won and even won the title while UK went to the NIT and lost first round.

You do realize when RIck and Cal had similar talent at UL and Memphis in the same league RIck beat Cal most years. In the end in Cals era at UK he as 4 final 4's and 1 title. In the same period Rick has 3 final 4's and one title. I can live with that.
UL fans claim Pitino is the better coach because he develops his players better than Cal. The game is always played in December, so wouldn't Pitino have the advantage with all that talent he has developed with his juniors and seniors playing against Cal's freshmen and sophomores, and if he is so great at developing talent, why are his best 2 players grad transfers who are in their first year at UL?

Also, you say Pitino beat Cal most years when they coached in the same league. Isn't the ACC a better basketball conference than the SEC and didn't UL play in the Big East before joining the ACC? With all the advantages of playing in better conferences and having the advantage of having more experience a logical assumption would be that the better coach would win the majority of the matchups. Pitino is either not recruiting enough talent (part of coaching) or he is not developing that talent as well as UL fans believe.

If he ever tells them the truth, that they're not as good as UK and probably never will be, he'll be done.

You may be "distinguished." I'm still not certain that is the right word to describe a degree. Anyway, I'm proud of you. Wasn't trying to preach. You again disrespect the "distinguished" degree you have from a "distinguished" institution by saying I am "pretending to be a UK fan" merely because I disagree with you. Educated people should be able to debate without name calling. I'm certain Yale is glad you picked UK. I'm glad you support UK financially. Before you hurt your elbow patting yourself on the back, I'm sure most people on here do too.
You keep associating high level degrees with favoring mild-mannered debate.

I don't get that at all.

I'm finishing my last classes at Harvard, and I still love using hyperbole for comedic effect.

I'd understand if your campaign was against straw men or something else that promotes intellectual dishonesty (in a genuine debate context) - but why are we supposed to have a stone-faced dialogue when we're discussing basketball with our rivals? Hyperbole is one of the most entertaining features of the internet, imo. As long as you don't take it too seriously, you should be just fine.

By the way, have you seen some of the kids at Yale and Princeton and Harvard? The social studies majors at these schools are just as censorious, partial to logical fallacies, and hostile to the first amendment as are their community college counterparts.

If you think that silly hyperbole is a threat to thoughtful and rational discussion, try to arrange a speaking engagement on an Ivy League campus for any human being who has ever publicly supported any position at odds with Bernie Sanders.

By the 5th week of students tearing down posters, running naked through the streets, screaming profanities at random passers-by, establishing "safe zones" with coloring books and teddy bears for traumatized students, and pulling fire alarms in protest, you will quickly see what the real danger is.

See? Little hyperbole there. Sadly, not much.

Was I hallucinating, or was it ol' Ricky P who went 1-1 vs Cal when Rick had the best CBB team of all time and Cal had 2 high major offers on his entire roster?

And now that he's 1-8 vs Cal with both at big boy schools - yes, yes, I'd say it's becoming pretty clear how much better he is than Cal.

10 or more losses the linebeards get restless. He has free reign to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

10+ losses and an early exit in NCAA's. I only see four or five losses in the ACC for them though.

I hate to tell them but they just had the best run in their school history and it wasn't as good as ours. The days of Morehead state tpurney exits are in the future. Admittedly, they are much better than I thought bc Rick found two 5th yr guys who are already developed....but with probation looming, no young big time talent is going to have interest nor is no mother going send their kid to brothel U.

The video means nothing, the victim isn't speaking about the alleged murder. And the video doesn't show with 100% accuracy that the victim died from him. The victim could have had a stroke the moment before he allegedly murdered the victim.
As you can clearly see, with no doubt RP did not murder that victim. No way.

Signed,
UL fans and Administration

Not making the final four in 9 years. Signed, Tubby Smith. Averaging 13 losses per year. Signed, BCG. Three years' probation, a two-year ban from postseason play and a ban from live television. Signed, Eddie Sutton. A final year record of 12-19. Signed, Denny Crum.
Scream morals and ethics all you want. RP wins. Petrino wins. Losing gets you fired. Violations get you fired. This UL team, with the right draw, is a Final Four team. I await your rebuttals.

Maybe if he gave U of L fans the finger?

We can see that you do represent your collective fan base's sentiments.
At least, you are honest about the "win at all costs" support.

He would have to start losing like he was prior to 2012. Many forget pretty easily the fanbase was not happy with Pitino when they went into the 2012 post-season. They had only 2 FF appearances, and were coming off back to back 1st weekend losses in the NCAA tourney. Going into the Big East tourney they had 9 losses. Then they went on the Big East tourney run before running into the buzzsaw that was UK and then of course won it in 2013. But there were plenty wanting to put Rick out to pasture before that run.

Losses is all that will make the UL fanbase turn on Rick.

You do understand things like evidence, burden of proof, hearsay, and motive, don't you? In the US legal system, mirrored by the NCAA infractions committee, those things are usually required.

Curious where the moral high ground comes from. When did UK fire a coach, of any sport, for moral turpitude?

then, i see you do understand. good.

Trying to get sympathy for his disgusting conduct @ Rupp. I'm surprised he didn't drag out the Billy Minardi/911 card again, thats' worked for him several times before. :(

I wish the freaking cops right in front of him would come out and say something. They had the best view .

As I said earlier, I was sitting right behind him. From 10 minutes before tip until he walked off the court, I can confirm nothing nasty was directed at him.

Not sure what proof you have that lets you continue to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's not as solid as mine.

He was unhinged the entire game. And he let it get the better of him as he walked off to the "1-9" comment. End. Of. Story.

Unless you wanna believe one of the biggest (known) liars in all of sports.
Katwatcher was a huge tubby lover. I guess Pitino is right there too.

We fired Eddie Sutton. I can only speak for myself but if Cal did anything over the past few years that Rick Pitino did, I would fully support having the coach fired. It shows a man who thinks he's bigger and better than the program to the point where he doesn't give a flip (pun intended) about anyone. The guy is a too much of a distraction.

False..this is the nonsense rick feeds you. Yes, we usually get better players, but u card fans are leaving the obvious out....Rick can't develop talent..if last yr didn't teach you that, nothing ever will. I'll explain:

Montrezl is preseason all american poy candidate..finishes not there and is a second rd draft pick....meanwhile Cauley Stein chases butterflies for 2 yrs, then becomes the first player in history to be named all american not avg double figures and is the 6th pick.

Shaquan Aaron..higher rated recruit than Booker. One can't get off the bench, the other is a lottery pick. If Booker went to uofl he'd still be there.

You've had Character, Samardo Samuels (the overall #1 recruit), Peyton siva who was good but never improved, Blackshear who never improved, and on and on. He can't develop talent. The funny thing now, Rick claims he hates OAD, even though a simple rivals recruiting search shows louisville by their offer list, because he claims you dont have that relationship...yet he's now bringing in 5th yr guys for 1 yr......bc they don't need to be developed. It's no coincidence Rick is the only coach in history to have the overall #1 recruit twice..Samuels and Delray Brooks, and get neither drafted.

And my OP gave you every scenario...it doesn't matter we win. Other coaches have beat Cal with less talent, so how are you making excuses for Rick? Seems contradictory. Why is it so difficult for you to admit he is in fact better. Rick's best run of his career was his 7 yrs at UK...when he had alot of talent...and Cal has accomplished more than he ever did here in a shorter time. It hurts, but Cal can coach. The defensive play to have ulis start on Lee the last play of the game Saturday because he knew a down screen was going to happen and have everyone switch on screens so Poythress would end up on him isn't a coincidence....sorry
I'm going to get this post tattooed on my forehead so my Loserville friends are forced to read it every time they look at me. Hat tip...

The answer is never. We have never had a sleazebag like the UL version of Pitino. BCG and Sutton were drunks and BCG was crazy but immoral?

Moral turpitude is a legal concept in the United States and some other countries that refers to "conduct that is considered contrary to community standards of justice, honesty or good morals.

Like having sex in a restaurant with someone not your wife. Having someone on your staff provide hookers/strippers to recruits.I won't even go in to your football coach. It just a matter of standards at UK and UL. UL has none.

You know I'm kind of an open minded guy when it comes to what people do with each other, and behind closed doors. But a married man in a high profile job basically taking another woman over the table at a public restaurant, yea even I think that's over the line regardless of how many games he's won. Yet apparently it's fine with UL fans. Given that, what couldn't the man do and still get a pass? In fact I guess they liked that kind of thing so much they went out and hired Patrino, a man who'd already turned his back on their program once. Nothing, absolutely nothing that happens there surprises me anymore. It's the Sodom and Gomorrah of college sports.

If our Coach ever had sex on a table in a restaurant I would want him fired immediately. Honestly, I want his name removed from our rafters because of that incident alone.
