Reds

Need to get rid of Justin Wilson's sorry ass immediately. I knew as soon as he stepped on the mound to start the bottom of the 10th this one was over. Reds hitters strike out 15 times tonight. Genius decision by Bell to make it a bullpen game using up the relievers and save the worst pitcher on the roster for a high-leverage situation.

Junis was sharp today. 5 scoreless, 1 hit & 1 BB. Doesn't look like the Reds offense is going to do them any favors in this one barring a comeback. Hope they can find a way to bring back Junis next year and be a rubber arm out of the bullpen. Give them a spot start like he is doing now. Greene, Lowder, Abbott, Williamson, Lodolo, Aguiar, Ashcraft all are rotation options next year. Could see Petty or Burns late next year if they have good seasons and the rotation suffers injuries. Martinez out of the bullpen has done well this year. Imagine both Junis & Martinez in these roles with a healthy rotation. Would really have a lasting impact throughout the season keeping the other relievers from getting burned out so long as those two are stretched out as starters in the Spring. Get hitters like McLain & CES back, 2025 will hopefully be a much better season.

Martinez was dealing last night. 7 scoreless frames, 2 hits, 1 walk. Ty France drove in the only run of the game. My opinion of him on this Reds team has certainly changed since he first got to Cincinnati. 2 hits for him, Rosario & Fraley which proved to be enough for the W.

Steer leading off in India's absence was a mystery to me. Not an effective lineup going forward, and just did enough to win thanks to Nick Martinez.

Lowder 5 shutout innings, 5 hits, no walks. I hope his early success to this point in less than a year in the Reds MILB system will encourage them to take a chance on other prospects sooner that are showing promise like he did this year. Bullpen did their job with 4 scoreless innings.

I'm a nightly Reds watcher. Sorry I haven't contributed much to the thread this season. Hoping for another beat down of the Dirty Birds tonight. Glad Rhett Lowder got that first win under his belt yesterday.

Jim Day saying Greene could be back in time for the Pirates series. Would be great to get him and Abbott back in time for the finish of the season.

Friedl really misjudged that route on the fly ball getting penned against the wall. Bad timing. Even the Cowboy says it was a catchable ball. This is why I think he is better off in LF.

No, it wouldn't. They have no business even trying to come back and risk anything.
You're right, the bullpen games starting Fernando Cruz have been working out so well. Aguiar getting ran out before the 4th inning. Spiers getting smoked every time he toes the rubber. Put all of the pressure on Lowder who you said did not need to get called up. He will need to be shut down and Williamson still working his way back. Certainly, no need for Greene or Abbott to come back for the sake of the bullpen and the remainder of the starting pitching rotation.

Bullpen games are not sustainable. Just lost Sam Moll to a shoulder injury. Gibaut was a workhorse for them last year and has yet to pitch a game with the season almost over.

Farmer and Cruz are next with their workload. Cruz has appeared in the most games this year out of the bullpen and Farmer has thrown the most innings. Cruz is under contract next year and the Reds likely bring back Farmer. Hopefully they don't end up like Gibaut and Moll.

Julian Aguilar's performance overall was better than what the box score will show with 3 runs. Went the deepest into a game yet with 6 1/3 innings against a winning team in Minnesota. Won all of his starts so far. That is about all you can ask for at this point.

15 hits, 11 runs tonight. Even Jake Fraley got himself a home run tonight, 3 hits. Friedl 4 hits with a HR. Martinez 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 0 BB. He is no retread. Reds need dependable arms like him that won't break down. Hopefully he opts in to his contract next year. At least keep 1, if not both Martinez & Junis as a 5th starter/swingman pitcher out of the bullpen.

So, basically at 22 years old, that dude is top 15 in baseball?
Cole, would you like to revise your vendetta?

LOL...WAR is for those who are generally clueless about the game and love stupid stats to try and build up players, especially for bad teams. The Reds probably have a handful of players who can hit .257 and strike out 35% of the time.....so there ya go.

And for the record....he will break a 13 year old record sometime this week more than likely. He will break Drew Stubb's record of 205 K's in a season set in 2011. Currently at 201.

27 K's in 51 AB's for the month, and hitting a strong .191 in September.

3 HR's in his last 32 games.

There is no vendetta....the stats don't lie. If you dispute his mediocrity, then so be it.

Here's Trump criticizing Steve Garvey for not being full-throated MAGA. Should be real helpful for Garvey & other Pubs in CA & Pubs everywhere. Let's just keep narrowing the base.

Wrong thread. Take the political shit to the correct forum.

What did I tell you back in May about "on pace" for something? Ketchup w/ your crow?
The fact that you gloat about something like this and seize every opportunity you can get to slam a Reds player is pretty damn sad. What a pathetic individual you are. You would rather see the Reds fail just so you can look right and mock other fans who aren't as belligerent as you are.

You have no idea just HOW pathetic an individual he truly is. And this is his "favorite team." He literally stalks Sadak on twitter with 100s of replies to him slamming EDLC. Its sickening, and quite frankly, makes me afraid of him. He is a scary guy.

That is insane. This goes beyond being frustrated with the team during times like this with the obsession over EDLC and Sadak for doing his job pumping this team up goes way overboard.

Its not frustration, its an illness. He seriously takes joy in Elly striking out, and he openly roots for it to happen. He roots for a guy on his favorite team to fail, so he can run to a message board and scream about it and hammers Sadak on twitter about it. It consumes his life, its everyday on about 5 different social media platforms.

Im telling you, he is ill.

Good comeback win tonight. Take the season series vs Atlanta. The bullpen did a good job picking up 7 2/3 innings with 2 runs. Steer with another 20 HR season, 91 RBIs. Marte did something right driving in a run on his double, 2 hits. A couple of hits for France and Stephenson too. Only 10 games left.
