I was hoping he would get to Chattanooga this year. Hard to believe both Stewart & Collier drafted in 2022 haven't made it out of A Ball when they have been playing well. Marte better kick it into high gear if he wants to be the 3B of the long-term future. Especially with the Reds infield next year shifting the lineup around to fit all of McLain, India, EDLC and Candelario. Jeimer needs to be moved, but good luck finding someone to take on his contract. This is the offseason India probably is traded as well. Their are talented 3B like Collier & Stewart soon to be here. Can't forget Arroyo who is predominatly a SS, but Elly is not losing that spot. Really only 2B & 3B spots for all of these players to get playing time from.

Agreed, rough way to lose after the lead they had. I read an article on the 12th that said Brandon Williamson was supposed to start a rehab assignment the following week. 11 days later there is no information out there about whether he started one yet or not.

What about Greene? Haven't seen anything on his "second opinion" trip to California, maybe I missed it.

Nats calling up their 2023 #1 draft pick Dylan Crews. Reds need to be doing the same this year with Lowder.

The point of calling him up is not in an effort to salvage a lost season, but to get a jump start on the 2025 season with some experience at this level. Plus, the Reds are lacking healthy arms and are going to be limping towards the finish at this rate. The Reds do not need any excuse to start his 2025 season in Louisville by keeping him in AAA the rest of 2024 with a month to go in International League play. That would be dumb. If called up, I'm sure his work load would be limited. If Paul Skenes can finish out the 2024 season as a 2023 draft pick too, so can Lowder. When a season is over, may as well make the most of it by building for the future and develop your young players.

Casey Kelly was outstanding in his return to MLB too. Pitched 3 perfect innings for a save. Reds really needed these pitching performances with the way the starting rotation has been impacted by injuries and the bullpen usage of late.

What's Lowder's innings cap this year? he's already somewhere in the 102-110 range. granted he's looking solid, but have to think he hits a wall at some point.

7.5 games out of the Wildcard race now. Seasons essentially over. Time to start shutting guys down and playing some future pieces. Maybe even just hold McClain out till the Spring. No sense in rushing him back now. Bring up Hines.

What happens to Arroyo with EDLC blocking him? Only thing I can think is he gives them an excuse to move EDLC in a couple of years when he becomes unaffordable.

Last I saw they said "no UCL damage" So that's good I suppose. but with this bunch I'd be seeking an outside opinion on my own if I was Hunter Green. I'm beyond not trusting their Training and medical staff.

I feel like Lowder will be brought along like Abbott was. He will likely start next year in Louisville then get a May/June callup and pretty much never go back unless it's for a rehab assignment which will be inevitable.

Thought Greene already had the vaunted "second opinion" and they decided he only "bumped" his arm on a cabinet or some such nonsense. You're right, the Reds medical staff is not to be trusted.

This is from Lance McCallister, apparently just a bruise. The Reds medical staff is seriously inept.

Hunter Greene's elbow 'issue' is just a bruise that came from a freak accident of banging his elbow on a cabinet. His last start expanded the bruise and caused the inflammation to appear during his examination. He's had an MRI and got three different medical opinions. Dr. Neil Elattrache, who did his Tommy John, indicated his ulnar collateral ligament was "fantastic
