Reds

Between Sadak's screaming, and this team being the cockiest dismal excuse for a team in MLB, one would think they are leading their division by 10 games.

Losing those 2 is pointless....getting rid of 2 retreads for someone else's retreads?
It's called a salary dump. Montas is owed $20 million next year and $12 million for Martinez so I really don't give a damn who they offload them onto so long as the Reds move them out of here.

Will eat my previous words. Hunter Greene is now turning into the top pitcher that we all hoped for several years ago

Time to punt the season, get right for 2025 by developing younger players and find a trade partner for Montas so they don't have to pick up the $20 million option next year. He needs a good start in Atlanta to showcase his abilities before the deadline. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world in a lost season to finish the year rounding out the rotation with Aguiar, let Richardson be a rubber arm/swingman out of the bullpen along with Martinez to get spot starts and eat multiple innings when necessary. The Reds are going nowhere. nothing to lose here. Greene, Abbott, Lodolo, Spiers & Aguiar should be the 5-man rotation and get ahead on next year.

Krall has to be fired in addition to Bell. Nick started out in Cincinnati back in 2003 overseeing the organization's advance scouting preparation and we see how far that has gotten the Reds since then. As much of the problem as anyone. He has plenty of prospect capital at his disposal to fix this mess and has proven that he is unwilling to do what it takes to stop the bleeding. Years now he has gone into the season without a balanced roster. It is ironic the one position we have a shit ton of depth in the infield gets wiped out and razor thing in the outfield. Players have to take ownership for piss poor play, but the Bell & Krall apologists are delusional anything to deflect blame from the one's in charge making sure this team is in a winning position.
With the Richardson callup where Martinez would be the long man out of the bullpen, it is clear they are going to move on from one if not both Martinez & Montas at this point. They may just be "retreads" but pitching this time is of year is a luxury other teams will overpay for a rubber arm out of the bullpen and be a 5th starter. Don't believe me, just look at the return the Reds got for Mahle who I think was overrated. Steer and CES. The Reds got 2 really good prospects with Jose Acuna & Hector Rodriguez for Phillip Diehl & Tyler Naquin. Bottom line, they ditch the contracts or replinish with some prospects for pitchers not helping this team win in 2024 nor are they long term pieces of the future. I would even say the Reds should field offers on Alexis Diaz and fill holes on an under .500 roster with your All-Star closer.

Always happy to see the Reds a series especially against a team like Atlanta, but what a confusing team coming off the sweep to Washington. Face a good team like the Yankees and sweep them, swept by Detroit. Swept by Washington and take the series win against the Braves. Been that way all year.

Braves have been a major disappointment, playing right at .500 ball for the last 6 weeks or so. Look at their individual BAs, lots of guys just not getting it done, supposedly a top minor league system too. Example: Lose an All Star 2B, replacement hitting .130. Maybe they'll hold true for one more game.

They put up 4 runs on the All-Star Reynaldo Lopez who now has a microscopic 2.12 ERA. Have to give the Reds some credit there. Still the 4th best record in the NL and going on the road to win there is an accomplishment. 8 games above .500 without their best player Ronald Acuna.
