Reds

Another tough loss tonight and in the 7th inning Farmer gets first two outs and then hits the next batter and Bell pulls him for Sims and what happens 2-run homer. This could have been an easy 2-1 win tonight. I would have kept Farmer in for the next batter after he hit the third batter after a fly out and a strikeout.

The injuries to India and Fraley have hurt and then when you look at the starting pitching with injuries to Greene, Lodolo, and now Lively and a couple of relievers. It would be nice to get India and Fraley back and then Greene, Lodolo, Lively, Antone, Guiterrez all back would help this Reds team for remainder of the season. Starters with Greene, Lodolo, Ashcraft, Williamson, and Abbott. Then put Lively and Guiterrez back in long relief and maybe a couple of starts to give Abbott or Williamson a rest. Then having Antone back with Moll, Law, Cruz, Young, and Diaz in relief. It would help to get all these players back from injuries later this month and heading into September. Just another tough loss tonight.

Cruz....stated it before, and I am correct as usual....what they are doing to this young man is now an injustice. Continue to stick him out there to fail and now it is just a miracle if he even makes contact.

K's in 15 straight games w/ multiple strikeouts in 9 of those. Only 1 multi hit game in his last 24. He closed out August w/ an 11 for 67 stretch (.164) and is now .185 thru 7 games in August.

Sure, he is going to have a good game here and there and the clown Sadak will have a fit, but this kid needs major work, and not at this level, and especially not while you're pretending to be a playoff team.

He has potential, but the novelty has worn off. He isn't ready for the show.

Why Bell keeps trotting out Sims is beyond comprehension. I told my buddy as soon as he came in that there goes the lead. I thought it would take more than 1 pitch! 😡

Sims has pitched very well when not walking batters as Bell was playing the percentages with the right-handed batter who happened to guess right on the very first pitch. The bigger issue to me is how the Reds have lost their way and would find a way to win games like that earlier in the season. It didn't matter how the starters or BP was doing.

Reds 0-7 in games Senzel has started since Operation Whine. Guy's poison.

He isn't the issue....just one of them. You continue to hit EDC leadoff (or play him at all), platoon lefties, change the batting order, etc.....Bell is the worst in the game.

Yep. I went over Sunday and he and Stuart were in the lineup in another loss. I walked out of the stadium promising myself I would not watch another game that Senzel was starting in. Hes an absolutely horrible player and it makes Bell look like an ignorant little bitch playing him. He basically whined himself into the lineup. That is not good for team culture.

If Fraley, India and Benson are available Fairchild and Senzel aren't....three weeks ago everybody is worried about how they were going to juggle the infield to keep everybody happy. Now it's like watching a horse needing to get put down and the fumes we were worried about with the Bullpen are choking them like somebody falling asleep at the wheel in the garage.

...damned ironic when you think about it that they get consecutive quality starts from the likes of Williamson, Weaver and now Ashcraft for an extended stretch and it's Abbott, Sims and now Diaz that give up the big hits.

Was there with my Red's buddies today. Bell needs to stop micro managing and let these guys win games . He mad stupid mistakes/moves today and yesterday.

Lorenzen pitched a no-hitter in his 2nd start for the Phillies. With no chemistry with Phillies catchers built up after 1 previous start, basically called his own game.

Lol, Senzel, a .220 hitter, bitching about a strike call.
Why the heck is Senzel still playing? Can’t the Reds go out on the street and find a little person and put him in a crouch and tell him not to swing at anything? It’d be no more a circus than Senzel batting! And the chances of getting on base probably are infinitely better!

Ramos does not exactly excite me either. A 495 foot home run in AAA doesn't change that. Should have called up Blake Dunn. Ramos had his chance earlier this year.
Think they're looking for his LH bat, it's pretty much Ramos or nobody. Hoping the Fairchild love fades soon and Barrero/Marte are brought up.

Or they could stop playing the splits so much as Bell does nonstop and let these guys learn to adjust. Never going to learn by platooning them this way. Essentially swapped out a minor league journeyman for one about to be one. May as well seen what Barrero fixed in Louisville plus his position versatility if you're going to bring Ramos up or give Siani (lefty) another shot so the Reds can rule him out for good or allow him to make it here. The season changed after they stopped fooling around with players like them and Jason Vosler.

Good to see Abbott back to form and dominating a team.

I like Friedl leading off or batting 2nd if India or anyone else leads off. There was no need for Bell to be moving him around the lineup when he has that knack for working pitchers and getting on base. He batted 8th once in that Cubs series.🤣 EDLC has incredible upside but doesn't take walks often or bunt, 16 BB in 248 PA. He has more SB (17) than BB.

Ramos deserved another shot batting .315 in Louisville this year and .371 in AAA last year.

It never translates to the big leagues for Ramos and if the Reds are relying on him for anything more than the last man off the bench, they're screwed. At age 31, he is what he is. A career minor league journeyman who should be mashing AAA pitching after all of these years of experience there. I got duped by the hot Spring Training he had, came up here and made one great throw from RF vs Miami. Nothing else of note. Also, his .371 season in 2021 under 300 ABs in AAA, earned him a callup with the Diamondbacks with similar results to his of the Reds. Hopkins hit .318 and can't even get off the bench up here which does nothing for his development.

This offense is just as much the problem as anything. They have been slumping outside of a handful of games once they got exposed by the Brewers in July. Good ole Krall sat back, did nothing at the deadline to try and improve this team. Could have claimed Jacob Webb off waivers from the Angels with a priority ahead of Baltimore but instead he goes unclaimed until the Orioles snag him. Has not given up a run for them. Reds need help in the worst way with the bullpen. Would not have had to trade any assets so this is pure laziness on the FO part. No excuses. Benson triples and then watch Ramos & Friedl strand him at 3rd. Ball Game! Up to Weaver to stop us from losing a 4th consecutive series LMFAO!!!

Don’t forget the live Just Baseball show at 8:00 tonight on Youtube. tune in to ask any prospect questions. Aram and Clay are two of the best in their knowledge of the Reds system.
