It actually would not surprise me to see Lodolo used as a left hand reliever on this year's team and eat up multiple innings in relief if the Reds get to the postseason like the Rays did with Price in '08, Bumgarner with the Giants at one point and Wainwright in 2006. Feel like he is going to be behind and will only have a handful of regular season starts to get back to full strength with Nick expected to be back later than Greene.
Interesting theory long term if injuries continue to mount up and some promising prospects rapidly making their way to Cincinnati. With Greene expected to come back sooner, Abbott, Ashcraft, Lively & Williamson getting the job done if the Reds make it to the postseason that is a solid rotation. The rotation in the next year or two beyond what the Reds have now has the potential to be stacked if Richardson, Phillips, Petty and any of these younger pitchers like Jose Acuna continue to progress as they have and the recent college draft picks. Who knows what will happen in the end, likely someone gets moved but having this kind of depth is great. Of course not all of them will turn into All-Stars but if just 2 or 3 of them do, Reds have plenty of options.
