See? That’s the difference between you and me. I don’t celebrate Final Fours. I want National Championships so hang your banner for 2nd-4th place. Cal was hired to WIN IT ALL AND he’s only done it once with arguably one of the best collegiate players of all time and fell short the other 10 times with several NBA all stars but I digress and here you go....

KENTUCKIDDY AND GFY!!!
Glad you weren't around for the Rupp years.:)

OK guys, I'm here to defend myself. We have a young team and they are learning. We are teaching them how two shoot layups first. Next will be 15 footers and then by February they will be working on 3 pointers. Then we will assimilate those things with dribbling and driving. Some of you want us to use a zone defense. But, this is a players first program as you know. As to my floor coaching, don't you see me screaming and yelling at the players the entire game. I know that some of you are concerned about the 10 year contract and so am I. I think it should have been a lifetime contract. Hey, did you see where I take out the garbage at our house. Just so you know, I've got your back with Louisville! John Calipari

So, anyone that has honest criticism about Cal or this current team isn't a real fan? What is your agenda here?

And BTW, real UK fans celebrate championships, not FFs.

I’m as real of a fan as there is. I have no agenda other than I see the same people always calling for Cal to be gone and they may as well make it known. Obviously I want a championship but a final four is a good bar of success.

Yea right...just who the hell do you think you are to tell people what to think and say? When you socialist take over we may lose that right, but it damn sure isn't here yet...so until you have the right , you can KMA if you think you are going to tell me/us l have no right to voice our opinions!!!

You may wanna read I didn’t say you couldn’t post. I said if your the ones always wanting Cal gone after every game win or lose than if we Alene up being successful don’t play it like you are always supporting the team.

I won't challenge anyone's fandom. We all love the Cats. I was just saying.

Freaking hilarious.

Sure how about 2011 when he took a 4 seed Kentucky and beat the #1 overall seed 34-2 Ohio state who was 17th in the country in scoring and #1 in 3 point percentage and beat them 62-60
You have to ask yourself… .. why was Kentucky a 4 seed that year first.

Also, while you're at it, ask yourself…… why was Kentucky an 8 seed in 2014?

This is what we're talking about. Losing games you shouldn't lose, gets you a shit seed in the NCAAT.

Those 2011 and 2014 teams had to make some crazy plays and hit some crazy shots to advance. Yeah, they did it, but our 2016, 17, 18 and 19 teams didn't.

Well I don’t know where this puts me as a fan, but both the endlessly positive sunshine goobers and the doom and gloom Cal haters equally drive me nuts.

But, I am also reasonable enough to understand that if the only barometer of success is championships, that’s a tad bit over the top. If every season but championship seasons are a bust, UK has only had 8 good seasons in its history. That’s silly.

I’m happy if they make a Final Four, even if the goal is always to win the Natty. At least they positioned themselves to be in the running.

But having said that, I am also one of these who thinks that Cal absolutely deserves criticism with how he has handled this current team. These guys look lost on the court and don’t seem to care most of the time. As stated, they run no offense and there is just zero organization. That falls on Cal. Period.

So, I don’t want Cal to leave. I’m just with the crowd who wants him to readjust his system to better fit the deficiencies we have seen the last few years. His stubbornness with regard to playing zone and refusing to run offensive and OOB sets is maddening. His inability to recruit the upper echelon of the five star guys has also contributed to this situation. If he isn’t able to get those kids regularly then it’s on him to readjust his strategy.

So what are you saying we should win every game we play? again moving the goalpost you ask when he out coached someone and I gave you an example and you talk about how they shouldn't have lost the games leading up to that?

My personal criteria for what I consider a successful season.

- Win your marquee OOC games. Dont get embarrassed if you do lose.
- Beat Louisville
- Beat Tennessee
- Win SEC reg and tourney titles
- Absolutely and unequivocally must make it to Sweet 16. Anything less is a failure, point blank period.

From there it gets fuzzy. An Elite 8 is def. good...but how we got there and what we do there are all subjective. UNC in 17? V Auburn last year? Not all losses are created equal.

Edit: Final 4s and Titles are the only things that are celebratory. Banner worthy. Doesnt mean an Elite 8 is a failure. It isnt. But doesn't mean its amazing, because as I said above the context in how you got there, how your season went, and what the path in the remaining bracket were had we won are all important. Which is why I personally get miffed about last years loss being tossed out as "it was the Elite 8!" Losing that game was inexcusable. I can deal with the UNC loss. That was two teams giving their all.

I get your point, I really do! I love celebrating championships, but you know we have only done that 8 times in history. If that is your only source of success, we and everyone else have been miserable failures. You have been disappointed way more than not because I would venture you weren't alive for all 8 of those. I have seen 4

My frustration with this season is that UK should never lose to Evansville at Rupp. Are we young? Sure but we are also more talented than Evansville. We should also not lose to a Utah team who turned around the next game and lost by 28 to San Diego St. The underlying factor in both games is not talent its a lack of effort and respect for the opposing team. The shooting has been horrid but give effort on the glass and by playing defense and you can still win games. Shoot the ball horribly, stand around when a shot goes up and give half effort on the defensive end and you lose games to teams you shouldn't. It's as simple as that.

Surprised nobody chose

Dicksin Cider
Whenever the wife brings a gallon of cider home, I immediately rip the label off and put "Hard Dickens cider" on it and laugh like I heard it for the first time (doesn't tale much for me to laugh).
It's funny watching people that have no clue, go in there and grab it and think for a few minutes until they finally get it.
The neighbor lady across the street has seen it every year for 4 years and still doesn't get it. I think she's pretending.

Oh, sorry for hijacking your awesome thread fox to Monk

I keep reading comments about people saying they want Cal out of here. Where are they? I'm not seeing them.

I see a ton of people that aren't happy about losing to Utah and Evansville and the pitiful offense that he implements, but I'm not seeing anyone say they want him gone.

So, maybe there are one or two posters that said that, but you're acting like it's a thousand.

I get you're trying to make your case, but don't act dumb.

Nobody said he had to win every game. Please point me to any post on this board where someone said Cal had to win every game.

There's a difference between 1 loss and 10. 2011 and 2014 lost a lot during the regular season. As talented as those teams were, they shouldn't have lost that many games.

If they took care of business like they should have, they wouldn't have had the seeds they had.

Everyone understands that winning titles is hard. But Calipari has something that none of our previous coaches had. He has the ability to recruit and motivate better than anyone.

Also, UK has given him an unlimited recruiting budget and the best facilities in the college game.

Calipari chose to create a one and done culture that caters to the NBA and has created a situation where we have an extremely young team every year.

That's his choice, which is fine when you get the top tier players, but he's not getting top tier players, yet they're all still leaving early and he has to teach all the new puppies how to pee on the newspaper the next year.

If he focused on building rosters properly, instead of losing marginal players and having to replace them with 2nd tier HS kids, that are left over after the top tier guys turned their noses up at us, he would be killing it. UK is paying him 9 mill to feed the NBA.

Yeah, winning titles is hard, but Cal has the keys to a dynasty, he just chose to use those keys for something that isn't in UK's best interest.

They can’t. They lump ANY criticism of where our program with “wanting Cal gone” and it just isn’t true.

Exactly.

Hey, I want Cal to hire an offensive coordinator and focus on changing the culture at UK from NBA farm program to NCAAM powerhouse. That certainly doesn't mean I want him gone.

You’d think after incorrectly predicting a final four every year for 5 years and making fun of the people with more accurate and rational expectations you would quit making these stupid posts.

Every year these people like to get on their high horse and talk down to the rest of us, saying we’re bad fans for not seeing final four potential, to jump off the bandwagon now because it’ll be too full come March, and yadayadayada. But then when we lose in the elite eight like everyone predicted these people still won’t own that we just had a another bad season.

Sure but you said name me a time he outcoached someone, Ohio State was the #1 overall seed that year so unless you are saying we should have been better than that Cal outcoached him and held that high octane OSU offense to 60 points about 18 under their average. You keep making these grand Claims about Cal not being able to do this or that and i prove them to be false and then you just move the goalpost

I never asked you to tell me who Cal outcoached. I believe you have me confused with someone else.
