I don’t give 2 shits what demographic they are, I care about having a country that maintains its border as the Constitution demands. What other laws can we ignore?
Only problem I see with it is that it creates a class of undocumented workers who can be exploited. That reduces the bargaining power of legal workers who are then forced into a bidding war with quasi-slaves and everyone races to the bottom.
Solution: if someone wants to come here they get a work visa. No more undocumented workers underbidding legals. No more red tape and delays in processing which incentivize illegal crossings. If anyone can show up at the border and get a visa for work then the only people with a reason to avoid legal crossings would be people engaged in criminal activities. Our current border security is more than enough to catch those few would-be criminals, but as is they have to spend all their time rounding up migrants who just want to work and live and combing through them all to try to find the handful of criminals using them as cover. They can contribute economically but if they want the rights and privileges afforded to citizens they have to take the time and effort to go through the process, showing that they're productive, law-abiding individuals any nation would be proud to have.
It's still wealth. But it isn't liquid.

As for the humanitarian crisis created by our border policies, change the policy and you solve the problem. If children didn't have to walk through the desert they wouldn't be dying of dehydration. If you don't have to smuggle people or drugs in anymore coyotes wouldn't have jobs.

BTW Morocco has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, there's a reason it's a playground for Europe's rich and famous. I still make shakshuka some mornings if I get a hankering.
