Again, what I don't understand is calling anyone who disagree with this tariff policy "leftists". It is literally leftists who would traditionally favor this type of protectionism. Republicans have traditionally been against this.

Last year 47% of Tesla’s sales were in the US and 53% of their sales were overseas. They are more exposed to retaliatory tariffs than the S&P 500 in general. In fact Tesla is a prime target for retaliation as Elon Musk has become the mascot of the Trump admin. They are going to and already have been getting drilled
I’m trying to find the companies who will benefit from tariffs. There are always winners even though we lose overall. That’s how the economy works. You should be doing due diligence to see if you are going to win or not. I am employed in an industry that will not be impacted. I’m sharing here to let people know what’s coming whether they listen or not.
Big Losers will be:
Retail
Apperal
Shoes
Electronics
Transportation
Automotive
Winners will be American companies currently producing apparel, autos, shoes, and electronics domestically. Retailers and transport just lose. Consumers pay 100% of any winners gains in the form of higher prices.

Unfortunately feels don’t equal reals in this case. Tariffs feel good, but they don’t real good and the impacts are spread out thin over everyone while the benefits are extremely concentrated on a few winners. But the total cost cannot as a matter of economic fact be less than the total benefit.

This is certainly true. If Bernie Sanders was president and he and the head of the AFL/CIO got together and came up with this tariff policy, you would be against it.
I’m a RINO or what I call a true conservative. You’re a protectionist populist. Conservative does not equal Republican anymore. When unions are voting for the Republican presidential candidate that’s all I need to know about how conservative their policies are.
