Trump will just veto it.

But yeah...shows how pathetic they are.
Isn't that the right thing to do? Mass tariffs on the entire world would set this country back lord knows how long. We're talking about destroying our economy. Long term it's literally a tax hike for regular Americans.

Trump keeps saying we're getting screwed over because we have a trade deficit but just because we have one doesn't mean we're getting screwed over.

For example, we have 3 billion deficit with Sri Lanka. Something like 300m of goods are sent there while we received over 3.3b in goods.

He passed a 44% tariff on them because in his eyes they're screwing us out of 3 billion.

He's ignoring multiple things.

1. We're getting 3b+ dollars of goods from Sri Lanka that people in this country utilize for cheap.

2. Population difference. We have 15x the population, of course we're going to consume more goods.

3. Trade deficits can be a sign of a powerful economy. We're literally the richest country on earth in GDP closing in on 30T. China is at 18T. That 12T difference is basically equal to the countries ranked 3 through 5 combined.

He wants to bring factories back to the states through these trade wars. The cost of doing so would be astronomical and it'll only result in US paying more.

Tomorrow marks the start of the anniversary of the greatest tornado outbreak in Kentucky history. April 3 , 1974

I was 11 and it was surreal.
Same here, I was 11 as well, and remember that time. We had a brick house but no basement. We saw the tornado that killed some people down the road in Red House, as we were running from our home to our neighbors who had a basement.

The following year my folks bought a home in the same subdivision, but this one had a basement. My dad said never again would he not have a basement for just such times. They still live there.

Everybody stay safe as this system begins to move into our area in several hours.

I think I'll take the advice of the guys in the cabinet who are billionaire businessmen over the thoughts of some moronic liberal posting on catspaw.

Man, the arrogant hubris of the Left is wild.

And being 30 trillion in debt is good for the economy?

I don't wish harm on anyone, but it's one of my bucket list items: to see a tornado up close. (in a sparsely populated area of course)

I think it would be cool to ride with a storm chaser some day.

"A clown and a guy in a "I Still Hate Laettner" t-shirt were the only two reported injuries in tonight's tornado...they were out driving around in the middle of it." (some future lead story on the news)

A tough question to ask Dems would be 'who do you love more...the MS-13 gang member or the convicted killer in prison who wants a sex change?' I don't think Dems could choose.

Hold the vote while they're out lol.
Trying to explain tariffs and their myriad uses/circumstances to some people on here is like trying to teach a monkey differential mathematics.
Omg I have a liberal friend who graduated from candy(vanderbilt) and he has zero economic sense. It's no wonder he's had 2 start ups that failed and left a great job at auto trader.

Fact:

Anyone who think the tariffs today are good for America is not worth debating economics.

I am kind of astonished that people here are this stupid. Good luck guys, peace out, no use wasting breath here anymore. I hope you’re blessed enough to not have this substantially impact the quality of your life. The bottom 40% are already struggling with prices and today from what I can tell everything sold at retail in our country just got about 5%-10% more expensive. Cars will be at least 10% more across the board.

If you think this is the way to pay down the debt great, but you’re basically saddling the debt on the middle class and poor and letting the rich who have made all the money from our past policies off the hook.

When CatinIL said that his Dad came to pick him and his Mom up at Southland Lanes (where my Mom bowled as well), and made them come on home with him, my first thought was, "did she have a 300 game going?" and that reminded me of the priest in Caddyshack. 🤣
I kid you not, I was playing Sub Search when the power went out. I was not happy!

I loved that game. That, and they had the one, where you flew that mechanical helicopter around, and hit targets. It was sort of like one of my favorite toys as a kid; The Vertibird.

It was all fun and games until you got too close (setting up the targets) and Mike Budzinski flew it into your face.

China needs to go to their room and think about what they've done. They're going to choke on their own dicks, when Americans can't buy their products at a major discount anymore, and they can't grow enough food to feed their own population.

Let's see how long the EU stands fast with their Ukraine brothers, when they actually have to, you know, DO IT.

They'll lose their stomach for it in 6 months.

Yep. Talked a good talk when the camera was rolling. Then met with UKR officials and backed off, offering loan guarantees again. Just like they did 2012-2014 to get this whole thing started. Spinnin wheel got to go round
