I ghost hunt in our local, very haunted cemetery & was chased out by a wolf one night about 12 years ago. And, it was massive. The damn thing was like 5 ft from us & when I turned to look & first saw it, it was creeping around a tree, kinda like it was stalking us. Which, it probably was.
I usually have a pretty cool head. But, since this thing was so close & the shock value had set in, I took off sprinting thru headstones in pitch black darkness, racing to my truck, where I had a tomahawk & my 38. I know that running will usually activate their instinct to chase. But, it took me by such surprise that I lost my shit & bolted.
Luckily, it did not chase us. It’s possible we could’ve confused it by fleeing so abruptly & it didn’t pursue. But, I think it’s bc it had just eaten. A few minutes before the encounter, we heard the god awfullest scream from some animal in the distance. Sounded like something being killed.
Looking back, it has always baffled me that the wolf was alone, since they’re typically in packs. But, also baffling, is that there aren’t supposed to be wolves in Ashland, KY, at all. But, it was 100%, undeniably, a wolf. Once we got to the truck we looked back & watched it trot casually thru the cemetery gate & disappear between houses. We had a long, clear look. Lots of deer, fox, etc, frequent the cemetery, so, I’m sure it was there, hunting. Needless to say, since that night, I never go in that place after dark without a small arsenal.
