My former resident state of Colorado distinguished itself recently:
(The Center Square) – A bill recently passed committee that would codify taxpayer-funded abortions throughout Colorado, likely leading to the state paying for upward of 7,000 annually.

Gotta give the Dems credit. They came up with a new reason to justify abortion: it saves the state money. I'm definitely not in the camp of NO ABORTIONS EVER and, within limits, I'm OK with limits on abortion. But, forcing every citizen in the state to help fund it is, imo. an overreach. And, to justify aborting a baby to save costs is beyond gruesome even if it's true. Of course, this action completely ignores the possibility that some of these aborted babies could grow up, get good jobs, have a family, pay income/property/etc. taxes for 45+ years like everyone else does. What's the cost of that?
Taken to another level, why not euthanize elderly and chronically ill Medicaid recipients as killing them would save the state money, also? Down Syndrome children - off with their heads! Wouldn't it be cheaper to stop funding SNAP and welfare and let poor people starve to death rather than 'waste' all that money keeping them alive?
Surely a majority of Americans can't support killing to save money, can they? Are the Democrats trying to implode? There are so many issues that the Republicans have gone too far on, imo, that a centrist message would resonate with a chunk of the voters. But, the Democrats seem to continue to adopt stances further and further to the left, leaving many voters to cast their vote for Republicans even though their stance on a particular issue may be too far right. If you diagrammed a strategy to dismantle a political party, you could hardly come up with one more effective than what the current leadership of the Democratic Party is implementing.
Insanity reigns.
