As an aside.....why are people allowed to create an account that, to an old fart like myself anyway, so closely resembles the true account holder? I guess I'm just a dumbass, but I would have thought something like that would not be permitted. I mean, there's a lot I see that you can just tell at first glance they're not the real deal, those are easy to spot, but damn some of them look real.
Agree
Anyway, it might happen to me again, but it won't be because I didn't try to vet it first. Plus, it's ALMOST time to get outdoors and go bass fishing!! I enjoy being retired but not cooped up in the house all the time.
Doubly agree.

See, I wasn't aware of the grey check; thanks for the tip Crafty, much appreciated.

Peace, WW.
One of the challenges X faces is that it has instituted a creator pay out program based on around interactions achieved through their posts.

So an easy paycheck is create “parody” account of actual account to try and take advantage of us not having our full attention span.

Or the political shitposters (on both sides of course) that peddle crazy shit so it get liked, shared, and gets views thus they get a check.

That’s why some of the far right influencers that got their checkmarks taken away from arguing with Elon got really upset because they get paid REAL money off those views.

That’s also why Aaron Rupar clips and edits Trump videos any time he so much as breathes weird, to try and get all the left wing views and payment from them.

So next time you see stuff quickly reverberate through the X media world that ends up being blatantly fake, you now know one of the reasons they have to do that.

LOL - I retired from Fayette County Public Schools, after 27 years there. 🤣 🤣 🤣 Who said anything about going back to 1960's segregation standards? JFC... I'm talking about removing them from traditional classrooms, and into a tailored situation that can better serve their needs.

Do you have anymore uninformed remarks, or was that it? Be careful as you get down off of that high horse. I'm surprised you don't have a nosebleed.
High-man, Henry clay, Tates creek or what?

Yeah, a boneheaded blunder.

But I can accept some occasional boneheaded blunders in exchange for getting rid of previous regimes that flat out maliciously did things to harm the country.
If a general or admiral was on a group text that included a reporter and disclosed top secret military plans, I have to think they would lose their job and maybe be court martialed. Why is it an excusable blunder for the civilian head of the Pentagon to do that?

Very becoming of the person leading the world’s most powerful and professional military.

Tech Department - held various jobs, but my last job was LAN/WAN Manager

My first job was setting up the first ethernet networks in the school libraries (Tates Creek Elem. was the first), and then working with media services to develop the "union catalog" (so that you could have interlibrary lookup/borrowing/checkout) That took about 4 years to complete, start to finish. It was a massive project. The biggest hurdle wasn't infrastructure and software implementation, it was trying to train the librarians. At that time, most of them had been there for a long time and just were not tech savvy, and resisted change.

From there I moved to Student Records Management for about 8 years. When people say "never take the job, just for the money" listen to them. I never really enjoyed working in that department. I was still there when we migrated to Infinite Campus actually. But I missed working in/with the schools, so I moved back to that department around 2009 IIRC. Besides, IC is all hosted off-site, so they didn't really need an engineer after the switch.

I pretty much worked at every school in the district, and worked closely with the Sp. Ed. coordinators and school faculty/classroom teachers' project fulfillment etc. My last job was helping to setup the helpdesk. I was working with them when Covid hit and the techs had to take support calls from home. I enjoyed that a lot. Very rewarding work.

You da man !! So so tough.
That pos smacked a fu*king BABY. If he had done that to a baby in my family, especially, right in front of me, I would’ve killed him with my bare hands, too. With great pleasure. Sure as hell wouldn’t have run away like the man in the video.

Doesn’t make me a tough guy. Just makes me a typical man with a spine & a STRONG will to protect my family. But, honestly, even if I didn’t know the baby, I don’t think I could stop myself from attempted murder. I would hope every decent man in this country would do the same.

It's the federal government that provides the majority of student loans, not the state. I think that's a pretty big deal. It also ensured students with disabilities have equal opportunities in education. Before that, many states didn't allow certain kids into a public school or completely segregated them. And spare me the part about if schools in states fail, people will move out... While some have the means and the "want" to do move out, most don't or won't. If that was the case, most would be moving out of southern states.
Student loan program is why college tuition is so high. It created a false demand. Most kids don't need to go to college by the proof of those videos of college kids not being able to find Canada on a map..... I do admire your ability to defend something that is clearly broken and has resulted in 80% of kids reading and math skills being below grade level. How bad would things have to get for you to actually close any government program? L O L. We can't afford all this crap anymore anyway chief.

Most "men" would have at least stuck a boot up his ass.

And here is the 2025 releases... 2 original movies and a bunch of reboots or sequels. They don't have any creatives left at Disney. They ran them off to meet dei numbers and if you notice almost every movie the lead is a woman. Even the fantastic four movie they gender swapped the silver surfer to a woman. Tron looks like the only interesting movie for the year, and they paid $4B for Lucas Film, $4B for Marvel and $72B for Fox... and this is what they've done with it. LOL.
