I don’t agree with exiting NATO at all.

I do agree with making the Euro deadbeats strictly contribute a minimum of 2 percent or else be literally expelled from NATO. Period.
Promoting the exit of NATO is one of the most asinine things I have ever heard in my life. Goes to show what an Idiot Savant Musk is and why his rockets keep blowing up over the Gulf of Broken Dreams.

Sure, it could be that.

It could also be he's simply so much smarter than you that you people have no appreciation whatsoever for his rationale or motives. You people know nothing, surely no more understand rockets than you do why he would suggest exiting NATO (which is not something I support either btw, save your triggered "Putin stooge!" keyboard soldier huffing and puffing).

You people have completely lost the plot: losing your marbles in your war lust is emblematic of that fact more broadly. If exiting NATO is the only thing that prevents these elites losers we have in charge in the west hellbent on nuclear annihilation, then he's right, not you. But no, can't be you, must be him. Look at all your CNN links!

For a group who bases their entire identity off of being oppressed and claiming to have invented everything and hates whites, you’d think a basic google search about the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade would be an easy thing but no.
This is true. I told my 6th grade classes the truth and they couldn't believe it.

I'm curious as to what percent of white folks think it too. Any data? I'd guess it's fairly high. I mean why wouldn't they?

The entire program needs to be reformed. Asking middle class wage earners (which is where the SS cap gets you these days) to pay an additional 6.2% of their income to give a Ponzi scheme a few more years of life is crazy.

Thankfully the younger demographic is shifting right.

If you have two wage earners, that was close to $20k paid into the system last year that young people will never see back.

Since my wife is self employed, if you tax effect for the 50% deduction, we paid almost $27k into the social security system last year.

While also saving for retirement because I don’t expect to ever see anything.

How much more is my fair share so others don’t need to see reform?
$168k of income (the SS max) is 'middle class'? Wow. Not sure that's even close to being true since only 6.82% of Americans make > $150k (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_income_in_the_United_States) according to the 2022 Census. In 2023, average HH income was right at $80k. You have to make 2X the average to be 'middle class'? I don't think so.

My personal belief is that, above the current SS income limit, the tax rate could be lower than the 6.2% and those higher income earners would very likely experience almost no detrimental effects to their lifestyle.

As to 'fair share' - I agree with you. However, if SS is a system that needs to remain, I think higher income earners should be taxed on all income in the same way they are with Medicare (and can pay a lot more monthly premiums for Medicare when they start receiving benefits if their income is high enough). There's a whole host of things that we taxpayers foot the government bill for that we personally will NEVER see any benefit from. In a previous post, I suggested means-testing for COLA or doing away with COLA altogether, which would make a huge difference in the program's solvency. Most private pensions do not include a COLA provision. BTW, government pensions also include COLA many times and I don't believe that should continue, either.

I've yet to see any proposal of reform of SS that 1) makes any sense and 2) has a snowball's chance in hell of ever getting enough votes to pass. While reform may, in fact, be the best answer, my belief is that there aren't enough smart people and people who want what's best for the country first over their own political ambitions to vote for anything other than additional funding for SS.

Something needs and has to be done, obviously. Whether it happens or not, I'm not very hopeful. Idiots on Capital Hill can't agree on whether the sky is blue, how can they compromise on SS reform?

Between the election, DOGE, and court wins the Democrats' heads might explode. Watch the morning news shows tomorrow. They are going to LOSE THEIR ****ING MINDS over that court ruling that grants DOGE access to all of those Treasury and IRS records. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Yep all they did was waste a few weeks. Actually not even that, since DOGE already had access and crawled the info BEFORE the judge locked it down.

Fetterman should just go ahead and get it over with and flip to the GOP, he clearly wants to.

He's been giving them goo-goo eyes ever since his brain healed.

And given how Trump re-made Pennsylvania between 20 and 24, he'd probably pick UP supporters.
No. Look at his voting record. He's a classic Manchin type: He runs his mouth but always votes with his party.

A white Ford truck very similar to this one provided lots of laughs on the most somber of days, for me, in 1994. My aunt had passed & in the obituary they botched her oldest son’s name & called him Ord Rodgers & nobody knew where they got that. He’s still mocked to this day. His real name is Rodger Hensley.

Anyway, I was in the car behind him in the funeral procession & he was sitting in the passenger seat of an old Ford truck. As fate would have it, the “F” had come off & now the label on the tailgate read, “ord”. And, since he was in the passenger seat, “ord” was directly behind him, making it look like a name tag or something.

The timing & the irony were next level perfect. Astronomical odds. Of all days for him to be in that particular seat, with a Ford logo missing the “F”, made it feel a little like divine intervention & I went from fighting back tears of sadness to wiping off tears of gleeful laughter.

And, I couldn’t wait to point it out & tell everyone else, which, admittedly, probably made me an asshole, considering the setting. But, I did it anyway & everyone laughed & pointed, just as I had hoped. But, in my defense, I did wait til after the service to commence the shaming. He has always gone by Dean, but, I haven’t called him that in over 30 years. From that day, on, I’ve only known him as “Ord”.

Sorry, I know it’s a stupid story but I have a juvenile & dark sense of humor & thought I’d share for those like me, who may get a chuckle from it. This pic just brought it all back like it happened yesterday.

We are going to end up doing a crusade style liberation of Europe in the near future.

....A man was convicted for sending a tweet while drunk referring to dead soldiers. Another was arrested for an anti-police t-shirt. Another was arrested for calling the Irish boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend a “leprechaun.” Yet another was arrested for singing “Kung Fu Fighting.” A teenager was arrested for protesting outside of a Scientology center with a sign calling the religion a “cult.” Last year, Nicholas Brock, 52, was convicted of a thought crime in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The neo-Nazi was given a four-year sentence for what the court called his “toxic ideology” based on the contents of the home he shared with his mother in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Judge Peter Lodder QC dismissed free speech or free thought concerns with a truly Orwellian statement: “I do not sentence you for your political views, but the extremity of those views informs the assessment of dangerousness.”....

Never seen that movie.
Ah... you're missing out. It's a classic. They used to play it 24 hours in a row on TNT.

The neighbors - the Bumpus family who you never saw - had like 5 hound dogs that always terrorized the dad ending when they ate his Christmas turkey. It reminded me of your story when you said you had five dogs.
