For as long as I've been alive I've never seen prices actually go down. Some here and there, but once prices go up they mostly stay there because the 'business' has 'baked' in the new price to there operating costs. And especially in the last 3-4 years when wages for some businesses have basically doubled due to caving to the Dem/libs on 'livable wage' and minimum wage.
This is one thing that I wish Trump wouldn't push....lowing cost. Yes gas, etc can go down (some) with increased supply, but overall I have my doubts. But I totally understand why he would say it.
The thing to keep in mind is how products improve over time. PCs are a good example. The cost hasnt changed much for PCs i have purchased since 1995. Roughly 1500. However ... the computing, storage, etc is vastly different.

As we know it is all about supply and demand, but supply is determined by ability to enter the market in the first place. And that is where govt, through lobbyists, F it all up imo.

Really Dumb MAGA.
Make America Depression Era Again. 🤡

Your moronic side lost. Thank God

So here we go, Trump playing favorites with tariffs by giving exemptions. Anyone surprised? Lobbyists will have a field day with them. Either have them or not, but this is bs.

"We spoke with the Big Three automakers," Leavitt confirmed. "We are going to give a one-month exemption on any autos coming through USMCA [United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement].

"Reciprocal tariffs will still go into effect on April 2, but at the request of the companies associated with USMCA, the president is giving them an exemption for one month so they are not at an economic disadvantage," Leavitt said.

She told reporters that Stellantis, Ford and General Motors were the companies Trump spoke with.

"They requested the call. They made the ask and the president is happy to do it," Leavitt added. "It's a one-month exemption."

You're as bad as Sam inn trying to understand that Trump is a businessman, a negotiator, and ultimately, will win for the country.
He's not winning without a consistent policy. Constant negotiating keeps changing the rules. He drives businesses nuts. MAGA may love it but it hurts the country's stability. I think a good part of it is that it just gives him something to do.

Playing favorites with tariffs is as old as, you know, tariffs. And to tie it back to Reagan once again, that was a standard practice of his.

Tariffs aren't building structures, they are fluid, and a means to influence the behavior of your trading partners.

(And the 52 percent corporate tax rates might have worked for a while, in the 50's, but ask yourself why we started bleeding manufacturing jobs after that)

Corporations don't PAY taxes. EVER.

My german shepherd comes into my computer room and just stares, I ask if she wants to go out, but she runs into the family room. That means get your ass in here in your recliner so she can take a nap. LOL How did she learn to control me?
This is basically every woman in kind of early stages of relationships. “Oh you mean you’re not coming to bed with me at 10 pm and would prefer to watch movies or finish this game?” Dog sees this and is like “Well, I’ll be. So that’s how you get shit done.”

They sure do influence - as in graft. Transparency? LOL.

For some reason I now want a Kentucky Mule. No idea why, but I'm really craving one with Four Roses or Woodford. Russian Mules aren't bad, but they are no where near as spectacular as a good Kentucky Mule

What were we talking about a minute ago?

sam called me a Russian Mule, which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, but I just let it go.

Trouble with tariffs at the moment is that no one, even Trump, knows what they are going to be tomorrow, much less in a year. Creates uncertainty & thus risk for business & consumers & other countries. He needs to settle down as to what they will be over time.
Wrong loser
