Russia and China have been frenemies for a loong time. In our life it’s possible to see a chines le excursion into eastern Russia to “protect” Chinese minorities.
Russia is getting weaker, it’s why it wanted Ukraine’s population and resources.

I assumed Russia would advance to the dnipro and probably call it a day, the Ukrainian spirit has kept that from happening.
At the current rate of advance it would take Russia 83 years to take over Ukraine. Hyperbole aside Russia isn’t quickly advancing anywhere, it’s a long deadly grind.
If Ukraine continues to have success with their long range strike drones their economy will continue to suffer.

Well that’s a lie, we’ve had training units going since that happened. Their military was attempting to modernize and migrate away from Soviet doctrine, that challenge being your career leadership all were in Soviet military. So it’s a HUGE culture change.

In 2013 the military budget was 1.9 billion dollars
In 2014 it increased to 3.1 billion and has increased from there 5.9 billion in 2021 before the invasion.
