When working for Fluor Corp (a huge engineering/construction firm), I had to bill various parts of a large project to the 1/10 of an hour, i.e., every 6 minutes, every week when filling out my timesheet. I was usually in a supervisory position so I had sometimes as many as 8 or 10 different expense codes to bill 3.2 hours or 1.6 hours, etc. Pretty much every job I've ever had, I've had quarterly reviews where you had to list your best accomplishments and areas you feel need improvement. The last 30 years I was in financial services and my quarterly review included new assets in, assets leaving, number of clients met with, number of client contacts, number of prospect meetings, etc. I'm guessing almost every private sector job is like that. Why should government workers, who supposedly work for THE PEOPLE, be exempt from having to show that they're productive and efficient?
