You can. I did it for years.

Now can you do it with all the creature comforts, gadgets, and entertainment that you’re used to under mommy and daddy’s roof? Likely no.

Seems most younger generation today want a continuation of the level of lifestyle they had under their parents when moving out but don’t understand it likely took their parents years and years to get to that point themselves.
Not only that, but without the onerous taxes and hindrances to productivity the government burdens us with, even the man at the bottom of the totem pole will find it easier to survive.

I did it for years too. Subbed and worked at dollar tree for years. God, that was hell. Then wife and I saved as we started our careers. Had a modest wedding, bought a modest house, and didn’t have my first kid til I was 30.

There’s absolutely people that match your description, but there’s plenty more that don’t. They’re a car repair or ER visit away from destitution.

I’m really excited that Trump has mentioned tackling credit card interest. 26.99% APR is silly and maxing it at what, 10% will be life changing for some.

Forget mommy and daddy’s house. Look at the universities these people go to. Sorority houses at Bama look like the goddamn Bellagio in Vegas.

I don’t like to blame women for societal issues. But this is absolutely on them. I can live a spartan life, but my wife be like, “I’m not livin in no cave”. Spoiled brat.

Right. And not only that but social media plays a big roles as well and like you, not trying to beat up women but they’re more vulnerable to it imo.

“Did you see so and so just got a new Lexus she posted” “She doesn’t even work, I wonder how much her husband makes” “So and so are on vacation again, they always take these huge vacations” “So and so go out to eat like every night, must be nice” etc etc.

It is very easy to have this mindset, wash your hands of the situation, and never think of it again.

Let's pretend that you are a 26 year old living in Wayne county. All the houseboat factories shut down in 2008 and Beldens moved operations to Mexico in 2016. You spend years working at Walmart (biggest employer) at 32 hours a week (to avoid paying for insurance and what not). You finally make the change and begin work at the Tyson plant in Albany making 15 an hour. You're finally able to work full time and bring home 845 bucks a paycheck. Girlfriend works there too and brings home the same amount. Insurance eats 245 of each paycheck so the two of you bring home 2,400 a month.

Girlfriend has 17k worth of student loans when she went to cosmetology school at campbellsville. That’s 200 dollar a month.

Two cricket phone bills total 90 a month.

Gas to and from work is 75 a week or 300 a month.

Rent is 600 a month.

So that 2400 is already down to 1,210.

Food per week is 150 and this includes eating out. So another 600.

Internet and cable is another 120.

down to 490 and now the utilities are due. Electric is 130 and water is another 40

So all of this leaves you with 320 bucks. This doesn’t account for entertainment or a car payment. These guys are lucky in that the cars are paid for, but Cody drives a 2005 pathfinder that has 195,000 miles and Katie drives an 07 mustang that has 200,000+ miles. Insurance for both is another 150 for minimum coverage and these guys are left with 170 dollars.

God forbid if they have to have a medical procedure done, car issues arise, and you see quickly why 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.
You’re not wrong.

I’d submit to you though that both of these folks could go find training in a trade and do better.

100%

I can also credit the Kentucky house and senate. Within the past 4 years, KEES money can be spent on trade schools.
Here we go….
Haha. Just trying to challenge the status quo around here. I can also say that because there’s 0 percent chance this happens in the near future.

I’m pretty middle of the road with most policies… something about wealth gap brings out the worst in me. I’m hoping the next 4 years reprograms some of my more extreme POV.

Student loans for cosmetology - that's a DECISION. That's not COL.

Cricket phone bills - taxes and fees jack up that price. Government interference.

Gas - prices are too high due to government interference. Should be half that.

Insurance used to cost $60/month. It's so high now because of Obamacare. Government interference.

Operations moved to Mexico due to taxes and corporate regulations being too high and restrictive. That's government interference.

Internet is $60. Cable is a LUXURY. Try something like Prime for $12 and watch Roku TV for free.

$2400/month qualifies a family for earned income credit so there's a few thou in the bank every year to put into savings.

$600/mo in food for 2 people, really? WTF are they eating, steak and lobster? You may not know how to shop cheap, but I do. A family of 2 should be able to eat cheaply, clipping coupons and taking advantage of BOGO, for around $400. Not to mention, if not for government regulation of private gardens, they could even GROW some of their food in the back damn yard.

So now I've saved this family over $600/mo if the government wasn't effing with everything.

Looks a little different, doesn't it? The problem with you ignorant lefties is that you never studied economics, and you don't understand what the term ceteris paribus means. If you'd bother to account for things like government interference, you'd see that YOU are the problem, not free enterprise. Not to mention, if it weren't such a pain in the ass to start a business these days what with all the regulation and fees and taxes and accountant fees, Joe Blow that you referenced could easily start a side gig and dig himself out of this so-called poverty that is actually still far RICHER than 99% of the rest of Planet Earth.

Edit: Speaking of which, the fact that illegals are being TRANSPORTED across the border by Biden, given thousands of dollars in debit cards, and $9k a month just for being here, I'd think YOU would be INFURIATED by that given the scenario of the couple you just invented that are scraping by. So why are you so pro-illegal? They're being handed tens of thousands a month and your little couple, Americans by birth, get the shaft.

He needs to stay distant from the lead and just be informed. That way, when time comes at the end of his presidency, Vance cannot be vilified by the left when he runs for president. He can simply say that we (him and Trump) were not directly involved to avoid the mess Biden and Kamala created for themselves by weaponizing the DOJ against Trump. Remain distant from the whole thing.
That's crazy. No matter who you are, no matter how squeaky clean you are, the left will always vilify you. Case in point, Donald Trump, the squeakiest-clean president in history, so clean they had to manufacture crimes against him. That didn't work so they tried to kill him. Don't kid yourself, they'll try to destroy Vance any way they can. Best strategy is to crush them all now and let God sort it out later. Just do the right things and work on Voter ID. Everything else will work out the way it's supposed to.

What’s going on in South Korea?

President declared martial law over economic tensions and fear of NK invasion. The parliament just voted to make the Pres rescind the martial law declaration.
Sounds like Parliament is being told to go blow itself. Now it comes down to who the police and ROK soldiers decide to follow. Things could get really messy over there really quick.

My advice would be go rt down the road to Somerset CC and get two year degrees in a trade that will at least double if not triple their income. Healthcare, mechanics, electrical etc something where there is always a need and not locked in geographically. Cosmetology at a liberal arts private school? Really??

Cut the cable, the entertainment, and the eating out. Suck it up snd be miserable for two years instead of struggling the rest of their lives. The two years will fly by and both will have market value rest of their lives and anywhere they want to live.

^ What's the money in this?
If you are referring to the proposal to do away with daylight savings time changes, there is a fair amount of medical research that shows significant increases in risk of myocardial infarction among the general population during the week following the spring time change when an hour is "lost," while there is very little to no change in risk during the week following the fall time change when everyone gets an "extra" hour of sleep. So there are some arguments for gaining tangible benefits by doing away with this time change practice. I don't know how much extra it costs Medicare when/if there are substantial increases in people heading to the ER and cath lab with heart attacks, but there could be savings to capture.

I teach 8th grade and my wife is a HS counselor and the destigmatization of vocational jobs instead of college/universities has been awesome. Lots of dumb 18 year olds (myself included) were sent to universities before they are ready. CC and vocational is such a smart and practical second option.
From your text, I can tell you are an intelligent person. Very rigid, though. I think you have good and well thought out ideas, but with all this slashing, how are we going to afford hospitals, schools, and etc.?

One of my granddaughters is in a sorority at Bama. My God....I couldn't believe their 'house'. Absolutely beautiful and 5 star.
Private chef. The whole nine yards.

Stayed at one or two (oh sht, 3) of those 5 star hotels in college. Was pissed I didn't get to eat the chef's cooking, as I was cast out before daybreak on two occasions. The other was during a semester break and the cook was on vacation. The nerve!

Stop spoiling them. That's the answer. If you cave, it's no longer on them anymore

I'm finished answering your questions. You clearly lack the inability to think for yourself and I'm not interested in reading any more of your insults. I don't believe you're trying to learn anything here. It's more likely that you're being patronizing and the way you keep demanding answers is off-putting. You're not my professor and I'm not turning in a paper. Get smarter or get bent, IDGAF. I'm not wasting any more of my intelligence on a closed-minded person like yourself.

FYI "and etc.?" is SUUUUUCH a lazy way to write and a CLEAR TELL that you're really not interested in the answer. It shows you lack intelligence and inquisitiveness, and most importantly, honesty.

There he goes, hurling the smiley emoji just like a jackass lefty. Not interested in learning anything, guys.
