Crime is down and has gone through each of the last 5 presidents.

Drug OD is down 18% from last year.

It's okay to celebrate good things and those are good things that transcend presidents.
Completely False.

If you are as you say new here, then you must be ignorant to reality and need to wait a bit and do more reading as the real "facts" will be presented here before you post anymore. It will save you the embarrassment of having your ass handed to you by those who really know.

You're welcome.

Call me naive, but I just have faith in certain institutions. Seems like bringing back the fairness doctrine would do wonders for the mistrust on both sides of the spectrum.

The Cost of the Border Crisis: $150.7 Billion and Counting

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has done a great job. Studies suggest this cost is upwards of $400 billion, but their cost estimate is $150 billion.

Note that I put out a GOVERNMENT source. Whereas you put out a LEFTY source which INCORRECTLY labels them "undocumented immigrants."
Not only that but they also will and probably did make up their numbers on "undocumented immigrants" tax contributions.

WTF are you talking about. If he’s banned, I’m sure that’s why. But it’s stupid.

Dion has existed in this thread for years and Tpush was over the top. I say shit all the time that’s against the rules. Most of the time mods are hands off this thread, and it’s stupid as hell if anyone reports things to the mods.
We have all said stuff that is over the top and against the rules. Except me, I'm a saint. 🫡

Why are you running away (ignoring) the facts we are posting that contradict your media-fed nonsense?

You linked a study in an attempt to prove illegal aliens are a net positive. When I pointed the first sentence in that study you linked said “they are a net drain”, you simply moved on without acknowledging you were wrong.

You just did the same with your “CrImE iS aCtUaLlY dOwN” statement. We just showed you why that is incorrect, and you simply ignored it, too.

You claim to be different. Yet do same stupid shit you all do.

You and your kind are a joke. I feel bad for your dad if this is the way you debate him. And explains why he only engages you on a superficial level.

Crime isn't down. They just stopped reporting crime. For instance, in San Francisco what used to be called robbery, is now not reported unless it's over 1000 dollars.

Gotta love progressive DA's!

I am chewing on what you said, no need for the hostility.

The news that I have seen, both domestic and foreign, show that crime across the board is going down. Crime and your perception of it is very personal and anecdotal. Hard to change a person's opinion on that when they are firmly grounded.

And the point with immigrants, Trump won. I say let him do what he thinks he needs to do and we'll see what happens. I won't comment on things that have not happened yet.

Now that is the problem when you have young people entering the workforce. You give them 6.2% more money and they will not save it for the future. Problems is, we can say that they don't come back expecting government to help them later, but you and I both know the bleeding hearts club band will demand that we help these poor people out.
So you could make it where the payer would put that money in a mutual fund taken directly out of their check instead of ss and while assuming some risk, there would be a larger return in 99.9% of cases.
Gubbmint can run anything efficiently.

Most importantly, it's not relevant. Crime being "down," if it's even indeed down, is not relevant to the fact that illegal immigration brings with it more crime, some of it very severe.

So if all you do to your Dad is bring in irrelevant points to rebut his "anecdotal" evidence, then it's you who's disabling genuine discourse, not nis tirades.

The problem about DOGE is that we already have something that is supposed to reduce excessive spending, THE GAO. Why not just appoint them to this?
The short answer: RESULTS

The long version:

1) History of ineffectiveness. Congress has basically ignored GAO’s recommendations. GAO now has 3000+ employees & 15+ departments which have generated miles & miles of mostly unread or otherwise ignored reports with zero significant change to show for it

2) Optics & Action. DOGE is Trump’s creation and he has the power of the election mandate behind him. The idea is that the later will spur action

3) Trust. Trump has learned an important lesson from his first term: Don’t trust the establishment. I would say he knows 100% without a doubt that the GAO is about as “independent” and “nonpartisan” as you are

4) Ground up. Simply put…why appoint Elon & Vivek to an existing bloated, bureaucratic, ineffective agency? Much smarter to just let them start from scratch & run things efficiently & effectively from the ground up like they have done with everything else in their professional lives. The objective is results not status quo

5) No doubt their DOGE team will read all of those reports from GAO. My guess is that they already have. Probably the ONLY people that have read them all cover to cover. I know Congress hasn’t read them in their entirety

6) One of the DOGE team’s key roles will be to filter through those stacks of unread GAO reports, mine out the most important stuff, prioritize it, then present it in condensed form to Congress in a very public way that will most assuredly spark action…which leads us to…

7) Transparency. This may be the most important catalyst for actual change of them all. GAO can’t or won’t (doesn’t matter which) be as transparent as DOGE will be. This is the part that will hold Congress’ feet to the fire

8) Coffee is for closers. ABC.

That's fine. I'll continue to view the world with my rosy tinted glasses. Do you think returning the Fairness Doctrine would be beneficial to America?
hahahahaha Thanks for outing yourself, Mr. Totalitarian.

The Fairness Doctrine is what every lefty DREAMS of: Enabling the government to SILENCE any conservative voice by fiat.

Thank God for Mark Fowler and Ronald Reagan.

You must think we're all stupid.

What are you doing? You've brought up crime, Fairness Doctrine, and illegals in one day. The old spaghetti-against-the-wall technique.

You really think re-litigating an old argument that goes back to the 80s is something people here are going to glom on to? What the hell is wrong with you?

The point about illegal aliens YOU made was they were a net positive. You even linked a study to prove your point when the first line of the study said the complete opposite. Yet you simply can’t admit it.

Your second paragraph has zero to do with your original assertion and your first paragraph is pure government-backed media propaganda you have fallen for.

We have posted numerous links as to why you fell for it.

You're giving him waaaaaay too much time.

The simplest response is, "Oh yes the GAO, they're doing such a good job so far, clearly. $36T in debt." \

Trump was hired to BURN IT ALL DOWN.

There's no argument for them to be a net positive for America.

They are a net positive to Democrats and certain industries; that's it.

What would do wonders for mistrust would be for Democrats to all leave the country. 99% of all violent crime is committed by Democrats.

Nope on the fairness doctrine. You need only hold all news agencies feet to the fire to report the news as it is and not edited to reflect specific opinions or emotionally charged viewpoints.
Agree 100% with this.

They might be a drain financially, but they are also keeping the US fertility rates above 2 and allowing this country to grow. This is a moot point, as Trump and Homan are going to drastically change this it seems. I'll remain optimistic so long as our economy keeps humming along.

Shew. You seem very angry.
