Not by the sword, komrade. Rather by the magic wand. The global warming/climate change magic wand.

- Norway has some very aggressive domestic green energy policies. Sounds great. Good for them.

- At the same time, Norway has nationalized their fossil fuel industry. A large portion of their GDP is generated from exporting fossil fuels. Top 3 exports: natural gas, crude petroleum, refined petroleum.

- They buy carbon credits from other countries to “offset” and to look good in the carbon emissions rankings yet almost all of the dollars used to purchase said carbon credits are generated from selling fossil fuels to other countries.

Round and round we go…as they wave their magic wand.

- Norway’s “Oil Fund”, which was originally set up in 1990 (they now call it their “Global Government Pension Fund” because it sounds “greener”) benefits ONLY Norwegians and is funded almost exclusively by the profits from the sale of fossil fuels to other European countries and beyond. Sounds pretty nationalistic to me. The Oil Fund currently has $1.5 trillion in assets which is 3 times more than Norway’s GDP. Almost 25% of the Norwegian government’s income comes from fossil fuel revenues.

- The Norwegian government has awarded 700 NEW fossil fuel drilling licenses in the past decade. SEVEN HUNDRED!!! Just in the last 10 years alone. The oil and gas within fields already licensed but not yet developed in Norway will generate an additional three billion tons of CO2emissions — 60 times Norway’s current annual domestic emissions.

I don’t care what they do energy wise domestically because Norway is a tiny little country with 5 million citizens & their energy consumption barely shows up as a tiny blip on the global radar. The bottom line is that Norway’s GLOBAL carbon footprint has gotten much worse since 1990 and exponentially worse in the last decade…if you factor in the huge expansion of their nationalized fossil fuel licensing, extraction & export program. It is ridiculously naive and disingenuous to do otherwise.

One could easily make the case that the main reason they have “gone green” domestically is because it is much more profitable for them to sell the fossil fuels on the global market then it is to consume them domestically. They know that those reserves will run out eventually so they are capitalizing on export profits now and enriching their citizens via the Oil Fund. Even to the extent that they are currently exploiting countries hit the hardest by the energy shortages caused by the Ukraine/Russia war. Enriching Norwegian citizens at the expense of killing the planet all while exploiting their European neighbors. That’s the epitome of nationalistic.

Not to mention the fact that 80% of their population is made up of white, Norwegian born citizens who are at least third generation or beyond. Sounds pretty nationalistic to me.

Also, with very few exceptions, the only immigration to speak of is from other European nations and almost exclusively “white” immigrants. At the very least it is about as far from “global citizenry” as you can get. “Nationalistic” would be the nicest way to describe their immigration policy. But if we actually applied your standards that you spew on this site daily then we would have no choice but to call Norway’s immigration policy “racist” & “xenophobic”. Yet you don’t do that. Instead, you call America racist & xenophobic & you crown Norway as the gold standard country of the global community. Why is that, komrade?

So yeah, Norway is 100% one of the most nationalistic countries in the world. That’s not even debatable. They are looking out for Norway…and ONLY Norway…and their GLOBAL Carbon Footprint per capita is as bad as any country out there BECAUSE they are extremely motivated by nationalism.

It’s just that useful idiots like you have fallen for their sleight of hand magic trick.

The funniest part about all of this is that you championing Norway as the gold standard exposes you as a closeted Trump fan. You’re just too blinded by the MSM’s portrayal of Trump as “literally Hitler” and by your own utopian socialistic democracy nonsense gibberish agenda to realize it. Two of Trump’s biggest campaign promises…

1) Drill, baby, drill!!!

2) Shut down the border.

Norway beat him to the punch on both policies about 35 years ago and they have done nothing short of doubling down on both policies in the last decade. Sooo…

Welcome to Team MAGA, komrade!!!

This may be the most impressive beat down of Dion idiotic ideology and talking points I have seen since the last time you were here dropping Norway bombs on his ass.

Thank you, Sir!

The last year I was on a SBDM (I will link below), the average in KY was a lot lower. I think it was around 12k. You'd be surprised at how expensive some monitoring programs are. StudyIsland for example was about 2k per student. Paper and toner is also incredibly expensive. There's a lot of bloat in each central office too (except for the one I work for now, of course.)

Something not being said here, is that Russia through extension of the Wagner group have basically turned all former African French colonies against the French.

I believe the French government is more pissed about this than most of us over here understand. Lots of revenue through exports is now lost and several have began to reject the franc as their currency. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Well, don't you.leftists dislike colonialists?

So, are you saying this a good thing Russia is doing? 😂

Colonialism was great for all of us! It was just a major bummer for emerging countries.

And even though most of these colonies gained independence in the 1960’s. They are still heavily dependent (on purpose) to the colonizers. The only thing that appears to be changing is the boss in charge.

The DOD has plenty accounting rules. The issue is the expenditures do not balance with the purchases. The figures spent cannot be "married" to what was purchased.

If some examples are required, check the rules...

The standards are simple. The "paper-based" procurements do not add up. Bet you the electronic version isn't implemented as it should be..... Just postponed... Indefinitely for the areas of expenses used....
The accounting systems used in DoD today (BQ & CRIS being 2 of the biguns) were not designed to do what you're asking it to do. And they were definitely not designed to comply with gaap. In that sense, you're right and the expenditures will never balance to a purchase. Esp when you consider all that goes into a program office and testing, facilities and what not. When you try to amortize all of those other costs to eventually buy a hammer, that is literally how you end up with a 100 dollar hammer. (and it is probably nuke certified lol)

I am NOT saying there isn't problems with how DoD spends money ... I love Newt's line at the F-22 rollout outside of ATL ..."let's turn the Pentagon into a triangle".

There is where the problem lies IMO. When Executive staffs are manned at 100% and Command staffs are manned at 90% and actual execution staffs manned at 60%, AND the only way the "Executive staff" member gets ahead is by creating a new policy ... you end up with a bunch of dumbass policies and no one to ever execute it fully (sometimes a good thing!) nor adequate time to train or understand. They can tell you where $$ went in terms of contractor, test event, sub-contractors, manpower, TDY, but not in terms of one asset.

I get what you're saying but it's not like we are talking about missing a few million dollars that can be written off as depreciation. They can't tell you where billions went. Like Jon said... You should be able to tell me where $1billion is spent even if it isn't stolen or wasted.
I think they can tell you. Understand too ... there are some expenditures they do not want to tell us because they are so fing stupid and some that they cannot tell us due to security reasons. And I'll bow out now.

Tell that to India. I've seen several Indian intellectuals say that British colonialism probably saved millions of lives in India.

I just don't know how America can go on without Ellen Degeneres.

I understand people wanting to live in other countries, but leaving America because you think it is going to hell in a hand basket is hard to imagine, if you love the country. Had Harris won, I would have really worried about the future of this country, but running from the fight would not have been an option.

Understand where you're going but it doesn't work like you are depicting. Wish I felt like typing but getting ready to call it. I just made a request for unallocated funds for FY25, called a UFR. Only a few hundred k. I know how this works intricately.

This is picking up more and more steam. It's not '16 anymore. People are going to jail this time. Lot big talk right now in Dem strongholds.
I hope all or most of these immigrants move to the liberal strongholds because, in a couple of years (maybe sooner) those places will be trashed and practically destroyed. Let the libs have them and lose what they have.

Wait... are going to tell Indian intellectuals they don't understand how bad they had it? LOL. I love liberals. You guys can lecture anyone on anything.
Probably more of a micro/macro thing. His family probably did benefit. In fact, I think that Indians are the most wealthy and educated ethnic group in the US. Travel to India and explore along the Ganges and see if those folks have benefited from colonialism and I would bet the answer you get is different.

Those are not wise words. No one man should rule a country. Just need extreme honesty from those chosen in a "representative" Republic.

Kind of sickens me most anyone uses the word democracy now. We are not a democracy but a Representative Republic. Words mean things...
That was clearly a joke from a known humorist.
I am in complete agreement with everything else.
It's a freaking representative republic on purpose folks.

I fully knew that, admitted I was triggered. The person I posted towards knows me. Even stated I used words that he did not post. If the explanation wasn't good enough, not much I can do to help them or anyone. (Not walking it back...)

Exactly, I would never turn my back on this country. If they try to take it over (get rid of the constitution), me and my type would be in the way.

Go to those places before British occupation and see if it was better???? That's the point. Dude I listened to, said his grandmother hates the British due to her experience. Yet he says his grandmother has more rights and opportunities post British than any woman in Indias history. There is a reason democrat cities are going to hell and red states are improving... You can ignore reality but not the consequences of reality.
