OK Just read the clark county ballot. Quite a bit on it. Glad I did. I know my votes already so it will be quick for me Tuesday.
I didn't actually see them enforce it. I don't know if they were timing people or it was just there for people who were trying to slow things down.
An unrealistic thought experiment would be nationwide voting districts, without regard to state boundaries (which as arbitrary as hell anyway), all adjusted for equal population in each. Would never happen, of course, but interesting to consider. Then, all votes would matter.
Which laws does any US government enforce perfectly? None. NET, your ideal solution is impossible & you know it. But that doesn't stop your bs. Try again if you care to.

I agree 1000%. If I do not know (say board of Ed picks I abstain from that part of the vote). I have only thrown away 1 vote ever on president since i have been able to vote. I always do my research on Pres / Congress / Reps but sometime since I work in cincinnati and live in winchester do not know much on the local stuff.

NE & ME have the best answer: Award one EV per congressional district and 2 to the overall state winner. Then candidates have to campaign in every competitive district which are spread throughout the country. Really wouldn't much be battleground "states" but battleground "districts". Preserves the EC & spreads campaigning around. Harris might campaign for KY 6th. Trump for OH 1st & 2nd. Trump would win KY 7-1 vs. 8-0, but he'd come out ahead in other places. Would likely make EC vote totals closer to popular votes though it wouldn't change 75-25+ districts' outcomes.
Yep. Every state gets to EV's for their senators which skews the outcome there way. Good. They shouldn't be overwhelmed by big states.
We need to outlaw political adds on TV and internet. Most countries do not allow it. It should be door to door, print (mail) or if you sign up email or rallys / town hall meetings. It would take away so much of this hatred. People online are internet tough guys and we all want to get our points across but do not realize how much hatred we spew towards each other on election stuff. It is not called for.

It cannot be stated plainly enough that there are no good arguments against the EC. No person who understands the formation of the Union of states should need an explanation why.This piece does a good job of summing up my political make-up, especially the part about being uninterested in politics for most of my life. I am 72, have never been registered as a Democrat or Republican and have only voted twice in my lifetime. 2020 and 2024. My wife is the same way and I know a few others just like us … apolitical, pretty much, until the 2000 election. To my view, I can relate to why there were so many voters in 2000.

Couldn't disagree more. If the US went this way, then the corporate uniparty media would choose ALL of the candidates and, in essence, run the country. If it is a fact that most countries do not allow it ... you have to understand they do not have a free press and that should steer any clear thinker away from that idea.
Here is my observation. Every Kamala ad has been a lie. Every single one. I have not seen one of her ads that has been honest, esp WRT her attacks on trump. Man I love this discussion: I go by discussions I have had with people living in other countries. So not all other countries, as I have not had conversations with someone from everywhere. NZ/AUS/JAPAN/Spain/Portugal are a few, Netherlands and so forth.
Our media is far too involved in politics, that is why other countries do not allow it. But I see your point as well so no easy fix there.
But adds that mislead (been on both sides but like you point out more on one side by far than the other), should be able to be legally stopped and made to have people / media have to retract, fined and such. If you are getting a billion or even 400 million for you to use and you use it to spread misinformation then you should be fined, and not like $10k but like $150k first offense, 1Mil 2nd offense. That would put a stop to it. It is easy to have a 3rd party view adds go to what is referred in said add and bring it to an election commission. Fine would be immediate. If you are a TV / Media any form / show favoritism toward one candidate over any other then said media platform/station is fined in a similar way. Debates should never be run by employees of the same media (CBS hosts a debate then Fox has the rep and vise versa). There should be representative of election commission on site to control that debate keep everyone in line. Thing are so easy to fix. When you start talking about 1 billion of $400 million being raised then you need to be held accountable for every little thing you say. Fines would control who a candidate pics to talk on stage and such. Maybe this all sounds easy and is far harder to implement. I dont know.
