Public "filming" videos are getting more and more common. Provocateurs, entering government buildings, and just passively filming government workers, and public patrons that are going to those buildings, to conduct business. Mundane tasks like renewing a car registration etc.
Personally, I'm fine with it. I can understand people saying, "they're only trying to get a reaction, and make some money on youtube etc." and they're correct. But whether or not you think it is annoying, they do serve ONE purpose; and that is to engage in their Consitutional right, and to demonstrate just how uninformed a LOT of society is, concerning what our rights actually are.
This extends to private businesses as well, to an extent. For instance; one of these "observers" was standing on a public sidewalk, outside of a private dispensary, and filming all of the patrons that went there. Including overtly filming license plates on cars in the parking lot (while staying on the public sidewalk), and that raised exponentially more ire, from both the employees, and the customers.
Given all of this. I'm wondering if, on election day; an "observer" stood inside a polling place (which is public for that day, even if it is in a privately owned building), and filmed everyone going in to vote, and exiting, would that be protected by the 1st Amendment?

Probably doesn't need to be said, but this could be applied in all but a very small set of circumstances.
ie. "government, please get out of the way, so that the adults can get to the task at hand. If you insist on observing, please do so from across the street, or at a location where you won't be in the way."
I've pretty much made up my mind; that I'm going to see, firsthand, what the reaction will be, to observation filming IN a polling place on 11/5
