Masks are about rate of spread. It has been from the beginning. You are contagious to over 12 feet maskless while less than a foot or so with one. That is a big difference. Time to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed. Time to get a vaccine. Infinity. Even N95 masks are not really that effective against viruses. They only offer protection from particles 0.3 microns and larger. Ask a virologist if they would be comfortable going into a lab wearing a N95 mask and be exposed to Ebola.
