Amazing how people can't understand how quickly this pandemic can and will change things. This post and the original it refers to are examples of people unable to process information and its timeline. It is especially clear the people still have trouble talking about racism in general. Her quote here: “Honestly, it sounds almost so silly to say, but there’s a lot of restaurants that are feeling the pain of racism, where people are literally not patronizing Chinese restaurants, they’re not patronizing Asian restaurants because of just straight-up racism around the corona virus” was when there was no serious talk about closing restaurants and bars but people were avoiding American/Chinese/Asian restaurants while going to other restaurants just the same, like say Italian restaurants. It's sad people like you, even some reporters who get copy for writing such claptrap can't or worse won't see that.

This nonchalant talk about bailouts drives me nuts. We are borrowing money my kids will need to pay back because certain industries didn’t learn their lesson the past few times. The banks, auto industry, airlines, etc. just keep cranking up my taxes to bail them out of their poor decisions.

This is by no means capitalism.

That’s just your Left’s/ Levi’s ignorance

That some people aren’t going to Chinatown NYC, where I’ve been innumerable times it’s great, might have a little somehing to do with the reality that there are much more Chinese people there, who were exponentially more likely to oh I dunno, have travelled to China or come in direct contact with people from Wuhan or even been there themselves.

But you just automatically assume it’s gotta be racist, racism because that’s what you are told to think. You aren’t awoken to some truth that others would see if they are honest with themselves, you’re living a delusion.

and it’s that historical fantasy that has you running around like chickens with heads caught off nationwide that’s a greater threat to us than all your fantastical boogeymen combined

Sometimes, I used to think the whole “that’s racist!” was just a far leftist thing to do, at least for most of them. Not that they actually believed it, but that it was the strategy so that you could feel like you were above the person who denied racism around every corner.

Now, I’m not so sure. It seems they truly see the world through an ethnic lens first. No amount of logic or even common sense can change it.

I’m watching Space Jam with my daughter. I forgot they shut down the NBA season in that movie. Felt like I was watching a clip from a week ago with the NBA GM explaining it was for the players health and safety.

that's definitively true, which is in and of itself racist... when they recognized that, they had to redefine racist to be only something white people can be because they are in "power"

it's total nonsense; in today's age, people don't have to be racist and whatever prejudices some people of good will may have are natural occurrences of human condition because your mind is designed to see patterns, figure out how to defend yourself to keep you alive.

but the logic that everyone is racist, because they themselves are, doesn't stand up to scrutiny. look morans, if I'm a forgotten baby in Alaska raised by wolves, you think I'm scared of them? it doesn't matter how innate or ingrained your natural fear of say predatory animals, or snakes or whatever, that fear per se can be overcome and it isn't even innate really some kids have no problem whatsoever grabbing snakes.

it's all nonsense that doesn't stand up to serious challenge, but it's dangerous because all it does is divide, inflame passions, make people angry or whatever because people don't like to be called something they are not. for me, imho, it's always a clear indicator that I'm not dealing with a serious person.

I'm surprised there's not liberal conspiracy theorists proclaiming that Trump put out COVID19 so he could declare martial law and become the dictator they always claimed he was.

How is any serious person blaming trump for this he did all the he could do and banned travel early on which probably saved us. The amount of cases and deaths is quite minuscule
Answered your own question within the question.

Anyone blaming one man for a pandemic is a hate filled fool. It’s like blaming Obama for H1N1 or Bush for 9/11.

And if you’re going to blame one man, you’ll have to explain to me how you blame Trump for this, but give Obama a pass for H1N1.

its people that expect government to do everything for them. I expect nothing from government or politicians so I'm not angry or disappointed. Until I wake up this morning and all gyms are closed in NJ that infuriates me

Since we are all about to experience an historical event, most likely a great deal more from our home, how about the telecom companies and TV providers drop their rates so like good Americans they can suffer alongside the rest of us? Spread this idea if you like it.

Cons

piracy is more the

Conspiracy is more in the realm of right wing conspiracy nuts. Their anthem being the one time hit song: Their coming to take us away hey hey"

t.t.tt.t.oday junior!

You aren't wrong, but the opposite isn't good either, ie basic bitch lefties who believe everything from CNN.

I've watched the progression in my workplace:
"It's just the flu"
"Masks won't help you"
"Why is it called coronavirus anyway? There are a lot of coronaviruses!"
"lol we're having a meeting about this, should be fun"
"It only affects old people, I'm booking a cheap flight to Italy"
"Social Distancing!"
"Flatten the Curve"
"Work from home if you feel uncomfortable"
"Mandatory work from home"

Meanwhile legends like Nassim Taleb and Balaji Srinivasan have been saying exactly the same shit since mid January.

If this event doesn't force lawmakers and leaders from all sides to band together and create some sort of new American centric "Made in America" or at least a "Made in the Americas and Canada" global supply chain and business infrastructure...I don't know what will...

All lawmakers should be getting with all businesses and telling them to start moving everything out of China and Indonesia.

Whether your a pub or lib, you should be blowing up the phones and emails of your local, state, and fed reps demanding we bring it all back over to our side of the pond.

Again, I've said it before, I don't have a problem splitting things up with our closest neighbors over here. Had we built up central and southern americas like we built up China and Indonesia, we wouldn't have all the drug, poverty, socialist country, cartel issues that we have down there...
