When it comes to the guns. I totally understand why people are saying politicians are coming for their guns. Biden says he is going to confiscate AR-15s and "assault rifles". It is beyond clear when they say "assault rifles" they mean semi automatic rifles. Beto has also said he is open to the idea of banning all semi automatic guns. The vast majority of all guns are semi automatic. My shotgun is a semiautomatic shotgun.

So ya I can see why people get up in arms saying politicians want to take their guns when Biden says he wants to confiscate semi automatic rifles and says Beto is going to be in charge of gun control. Its kind of the definition of politicians saying they're going to take people's guns.

All the United States manufacturing industry needs is a level playing field. I do realize the much cheaper wages paid to workers in other countries and that does compute the lesser costs along with other factors but in the larger picture the United States has distinct advantages in shipping and other areas that help combat those costs. Shipping and in many cases protected storage and other logistics and insurance costs along with host country taxing/ confiscation factors are huge factors in expenses. (Not the only expenses but that would take another forum to go in depth.) Give the United States a level playing field and I like our chances in the competitive markets. Note: There are always exceptions such as raw minerals or materials located in an advantageous area or other countries.

I agree that we need a level playing field. There could be certain cost advantages in the US as well. However, history has shown that those generally aren’t enough to offset the lower cost of labor. Without something like a tariff that brings the cost of foreign labor up to our level, it’s doubtful the price of our products would be competitive in many cases. If that were the case we would not have lost much of the manufacturing jobs that we have. And even that only addresses products sold in the US. Many companies sell globally so the price of the product has to be competitive globally or the company manufacturing it won’t be around very long. I just don’t think there is an easy answer.

Canceling events to fans is going to cost so much money. Think of all the arena employees, bars, etc that depend on those events to make it. A lot of those people probably live paycheck to paycheck and are going to default on something. Discouraging travel, hotels, timeshares, and seeing some of the pictures of airports today... Lots of workers, not much work. Whether or not you think the virus is real, this is going to continue hitting the economy.

The United State lost a LOT of manufacturing jobs due to taxation in the United States. I can go into the macro and micro reasons very deeply but my typing patience has its limits, suffice it to say the push toward globalism...even from within the United States was taken far to the ridiculous to where the United States has funded globalism with United States tax payer dollars.

China is a direct by-product solely due to United States funding them into solvency and in return the United States paid them for them raping us. I really would like to go further and I can almost do that country by country and regulation by regulation. The United States owns the cards, the table, and the money but they gave it away for free. I must stop now.
