Definitely an interesting question. Is following friends and family of a potential political opponent just a campaign expense? Is this a pac funded activity? Seems like this would be the duty of honesty journalists if they existed.

Look at where all the job growth is now for the last year. Services. Jobs that will shed by the 100's of thousands the second the contraction starts. Job Growth and GDP growth is lower than when Trump took office after his HUGE tax cut stimulus. GDP for Q1 2020 right now is projected at .5%. The nowcast for Q3 19 is 1.5%. Cheeto face was promising 4-5% growth. MAGA!
What the **** is Trump going to do when the recession starts? He has no levers to pull for pressure control. Normally you would cut rates or increase spending. But his dumbass has done that before the recession. It's very likely to become even worse than Bush's mess. How the **** do you increase spending when running a 1.2 trillion deficit? The debt bubble is going to pop and collapse some big sectors. Instead of Trump sticking his head in the sand and pretending everything is okay we should be preparing for the downturn. He is just praying to his $$$$ and re-election gods that it holds off till after November. This is why America is so broken now. Politicians can't think long term, all they care about is elections and how to feed their base.

I've thought about this too. There are many rational people who support Trump overall but object and disagree with certain things he says and/or does but they have been constantly bombarded and forced into defending so much over the top nonsense and so many outright slanderous lies that they either don't have the time/energy to speak up, don't care to speak up, or feel like they can't give an inch to the mob by speaking up.

Why was House Ds Campaign Committee (DCCC) still taking Blavatnik's campaign donations after 2016 and as recent as '18?
During and since '16 Blavatnik has written multiple big dollar checks to Schumer, Gottheimer, Kander, Cory Booker, Biden, Manchin, Rahm Emanuel and of course Hillary Clinton. Also the DCCC ($64,800), another $61,300 to the DNC and $86,200 to the DSCC.
After he had maxed out to Kander he gave the Missouri Democratic State Committee $10,000 to spend on Kander's failed Senate campaign. Kathleen Rice was another D who got big multiple contributions from Blavatnik.
FWIW, I just spoke with my contact at Prudential's research team: they think we wont see a recession until after the election.
Much of the recessionary talk (economic weakness in Europe and Asia) is old news (several years old, actually) and South America is still commodity based (so no growth there).
Manufacturing is slowing here but its really hard to have a recession with rates headed to almost zero (again) and full employment.
I think we'll certainly print lower GDP numbers but I agree with the Pru people: no recession until after the election (sorry libs).

It's very hard to bet against Trump. Guy is the hardest campaigner out there and just seems to always make the right moves at the right time. No doubt in my mind he has a plan in place to make sure the economy and markets are doing well when the election comes around. Democrats have no plan and are always 2-3 steps behind him.

Schiff is pretty reasonable although I'm not quite as enthused about gold as he is... especially at this level. He's fun to listen to... especially when he talks about Bitcoin (he thinks a tennis ball has more value lol).
Most folks don't realize there are negative impacts from a strong dollar... the main one being the impact on US exporters.
A strong dollar is not a cure-all by any means.
