The 4th option is that they’re just not telling the truth. After all, what kind of idiot would admit in 2025 to ever being a Democrat?

While I never considered myself a party member, I did almost exclusively vote for them prior to 2016. I guess, in my defense, lots of things were different then.

No way would I want to be associated with who those people are today, let alone their platform.

Yes. The lobbyists for soda and snack producers have killed every attempt at this before, make no mistake. And yes the value of Coca-Cola shares may go down.

Nobody should give a shit though. We are at a crossroads and if we don’t seize this moment to fix so many broken institutions, then it will never happen.
Yea, ADM will likely hire a corporate hit man before they let go of high fructose corn syrup, ha

Poisoning the well is a logical fallacy.
Why keep replying to this nincompoop? He just blathers nonsense and replies nonstop. If you ignore him and others like him, they'll go away. You'll never convince them to change their mind and you won't be swayed by their Far Left nonsense, either. Life is much better w/out DAs like these guys posting. I sometimes read their posts to see if they may actually have a valid point that I should consider and 99.9% of the time it's regurgitated dreck from MSNBC, CNN, WaPo, etc.

The economy is going to crash because of these clowns. Just a matter of time.
US has been the beacon of market stability, the silly tariff chaos has businesses pausing investment as no one knows what the rules of the trade world is actually going to be.
All this churn has exponentially expanded the volatility risk and you're already seeing fund managers recommending diversification away from US markets and securities.
Warren Buffet is sitting on billions of cash awaiting a major market correction.

My fear is the Olivers are wanting a crash to grab more assetts at distressed pricing and lead to more consolidation and monopolies that are contrary to consumer buying power.

Some more from Trump today at the cabinet meeting:

Maybe my favorite line of the day:

Trump: "cutting 65 percent or so of people from environmental, and we are going to speed up the process too at the same time. You had a lot of people that weren't doing their jobs, they were just obstructionists, and a lot of people that didn't exist, I guess.

what does that have to do with the sadness of a child dying to a preventable disease?
What's it have to do with Trump. Rfk brought measles back in a month?

It never ceases to amaze libs think you just turn switches and things are instantaneous

If it's a school age girl, that means her vaccine tables were supposed to be done LAST FALL. @sambowieshin never considered this

"Additionally, the regime has not been transporting the violent criminals that they sent into our Country (the Good Ole’ U.S.A.) back to Venezuela at the rapid pace that they had agreed to."

"I am therefore ordering that the ineffective and unmet Biden “Concession Agreement” be terminated as of the March 1st option to renew."

What do you think happens if spending isn’t curtailed and the US is unable to borrow trillions more to light on fire?
I'm down with going through with tightening the belt, I'm just against hand outs to the coporations and the elit under the guise of a few bucks for the common man.
The deficit needs to tightened for sure.

That's the problem Bill. This administration and Pubs are adding to the debt.... Not bringing it down.
They are cutting taxes and still spending.
These DOGE cuts and other promises of cuts are smoke and mirrors and bandaids for a brain bleed.
The only real way to tackle our debt is thru some painful cuts AND some targeted taxes on those in the highest income brackets.

As long as it's written from a true American perspective and not the WEF's version of "personal liberty and free market"

Agree. I think it will be the American perspective only because these tech guys turned on the dems when the dems way overstepped on their demands for control, which included threats of debanking Facebook.

Imagine how insanely power drunk/batsh1t crazy it was for Pocahontas to sick her shadowy banking regulator group on a company like Facebook. Facebook is more powerful than the government, probably many times over.

I think my big worry is if you cut taxes and the deficit still grows that now we're getting really limited on the fiscal possibilities to jump start the economy if needed.
Deficit larger and now you need to print money for govt jump start projects, bad combo for the american tax payer.

Pretty crazy that the FBI sent two women to serve as honeypots to try and get info from Trump in 2016.

What do you think these people have done the the Epstein info?
The Epstein list/info/file has likely been completely wiped of anything incriminating to top-level folks. Some small-fish may be used as sacrificial lambs, but this isn’t going to result in what we want and what is, by all accounts, warranted. Just be prepared.

This House bill ain't gonna do Jack sh** to bring down the debt. This is the shell game that the right is buying in to.
The only way to bring down the debt is via targeted tax increases on billionaires and corporations along with targeted spending cuts in the government where possible.
Focusing entirely on DOGE to bring down the debt is like expecting a road block to hold back a flood. There's just not nearly enough there to do it.
I guarantee you that the debt is going to go higher than ever on this path Trump has us on.
DOGE is smoke and mirrors dude.

Bidens admin was quietly one of the most any monopoly administrations in a while, they blocked quite a few mergers to protect consumers.
My guess is thats a big contributing factor on the turn.

The consumer protection beura is something that is an excellent example of governemnt protecting the people from predatory business practices.
The reason some industries are pushing back on it is that they've carved most the meat of the bone already as far as margins, so you have to start amping up programs that trick and trap customers in fees. Big banks LOVE to nickel and dime us and the regulations against that pissed them off.

Warren Buffet has a great quote talking about how if the top 600 companies in America actually paid their taxes and didn't loop hole their way out of it the general public would have to ever pay a income tax.
He's got some great quotes about being proud and their civic duty to support the government and business environment that helped them make all that money.

Simplify the tax code and tamp out the rich exemptions that put nothing but a heavier burden on the middle class.

The smoke and mirrors thats coming on the initial govt expense review will be if they sell off a bunch of public land / assets to pump up revenue receipts.
But that's a one time gain and any true analysis will exclude that from breakdowns on deficit growth.

I didn't say anything about trump or RFK on this.
My statement is anti vaxx propaganda is directly contrary to safety of the American public health.
Rates are slipping from the sustained assault on vaccine efficiency and safety, and we're beginning to see the results from this.
Hoping RFK does as he says, will review the science, and then like the rest of the scientific world promote their safety and crucial public health role.

Take their freebies away and they will go home.
Who is not eligible? Some categories of people are not eligible for SNAP regardless of their income or assets, such as individuals who are on strike, all people without a documented immigration status, some students attending college more than half time,[6] certain immigrants with lawful immigration statuses,[7] and certain people with drug-related felony convictions in some states. Many adults aged 18 to 54 who do not have children in the home and who do not have disabilities are limited to three months of SNAP benefits every three years in many areas of the country, and states have broad authority to extend work requirements to many other SNAP households. (See box, “The Three-Month Time Limit.”)

and a reminder of the level needed to be on food stamps

Determining Eligibility

Under federal rules, to be eligible for benefits a household’s[1] income and resources must meet three tests:[2]

  • Gross monthly income — that is, household income before any of the program’s deductions are applied — generally must be at or below 130 percent of the poverty line. For a family of three, the poverty line used to calculate SNAP benefits in federal fiscal year 2025 is $2,152 a month. Thus, 130 percent of the poverty line for a three-person family is $2,798 a month, or about $33,576 a year. The poverty level is higher for bigger families and lower for smaller families.[3]
  • Net income, or household income after deductions are applied, must be at or below the poverty line.
  • Assets must fall below certain limits: households without a member aged 60 or older or who has a disability must have assets of $3,000 or less, and households with such a member must have assets of $4,500 or less.[4]
