Visited Bardstown over Memorial Day weekend last May with daughter, little brother, his wife and another couple. They flew up from Florida. I traveled out from TX and met up with my daughter. Bourbon tasted awesome. Bourbon train was insanely great. A real class operation.

And, a firefighter's #1 priority is and always should be FIGHTING FIRES! 'Diversity, diversity, diversity' - good Lord, how stupid this individual sounds. I'm sure no one 'in charge' is embarrassed by this person but, if I'm a CA resident, and THIS is what was hired to fight fires, I'd be beyond livid.

We know the severity of the fires, and inability to fight them due to policy and resource mismanagement is man made.

Being a straight white fire chief with full water hydrants and a few million more in the budget was not ever gonna stop this fire from spreading given the dry ass conditions and hurricane force winds.
It's complex.... which is why right wing media preys on simple people by giving them simple explanations like blaming it all on a fire chief's sexual identity and a tight budget.

God you people are stupid. If you’re going to live in areas prone to wildfires, you need to be prepared for those wildfires. Not do everything you can to make them worse.
Full fire hydrants could gave made the fire less devastating.
We will never know for sure but more likely it would have been like spitting on a house fire. The fire was jumping over their efforts due to the wind conditions and embers.
Hell, they have firefighter there now from 9 states and 2 different countries and can't stop it.
