Any post covid supply chain issues for basic goods went away a couple of years ago.

Do you understand inflation?

Freeze on Russian oil/gas.....who has been the POTUS during this war? Which POTUS has given Ukraine BILLIONS?

Your rambling ignorance on this last day of 2024 is worse than it was on Jan 1st.
Inflation has steadied since then as well. Biden has made some mistakes in his Presidency but Ukraine wasn't one of them.
BTW....
US stocks are about to achieve a feat so rare that it’s only ever happened a handful of times.

The S&P 500 is set to gain over 20% this year after rising 24% in 2023. Back-to-back gains of over 20% would be the best performance for the benchmark index since 1997 and 1998.

Grocery stores have around a 2% profit margin you nut. Their profits went up because 2% of a much larger number is still a larger number.
Like clockwork, I knew this same thing was going to be parroted on here again. 2% lol. Executives of major grocery chains have admitted to price gouging. Not going to link them again. You clearly know how to use a computer and probably can google something without help. To pretend like price gouging isn’t happening is moronic. And to pretend like Trump can get them to lower prices and profits is even more moronic.

Have you noticed that your world view is that anytime anything goes wrong with democrats or someone you don't like does anything it's supposedly bc of money or greed?

Do you think grocery stores just go, you know what, mark that up 2 bucks?

You are 100% a government employee.

It's basic economics. Stores have extremely thin margins...like barely 2%. You know all that stuff in them? It doesn't magically manifest in the store. The vendor, say farmer, has higher labor costs, higher costs for materials, equipment, the fuel they use to harvest. Do you know how mich fertilizer is now? That's passed on. Those magic inventions called trucks, aka freight, don't run on feelings, they run on fuel. It costs to bring them there. It's passed on. The shelf life of perishable food is short, you have an expense and if you dont sell it, it's a loss. The store itself isn't utility free, they have air and heating, electricity.

Have you ever considered you live in a fantasy reality?
No doubt lots of things can raise prices. I’m speaking specifically to the price gouging that major grocery chain executives have admitted to. I guess you’re cool with that?

Also Trump campaigned that he would lower prices day one. But has already walked that back and said “once prices go up like this, it’s hard to lower them”. Gee I wonder why that is.

Seriously? Your comments after the Trump assassination attempts, lets say that you hold yourself to a completely different standard.
Never said anything disparaging or hateful about Trump regarding the attempts on his life.
Only thing I recall is hypothesizing that his rhetoric and election denial may have contributed towards unstable people feeling violence is the answer to our leadership choices. Basically the ballots vs bullets viewpoint that if you feel your vote doesn't matter then some may resort to violence.
Never said I advocated that.
Never said I wished any violence on him or anything close to that.
You're confused as hell like always.

lol found the guy who reads lefty headlines and has no understanding of business. No one admitted to price gouging.

Really good idea by Homan. The media is going to try to portray everyone being deported as innocent people...a weekly update to the contrary showing just how many murderers, rapists, child molesters, gang members etc. that Biden unleashed on the American people will serve to destroy their narrative. But as Homan always rightly points out...'Every illegal alien is a criminal.'

"Homan, while talking to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, was asked by the founder about his thoughts on how to prepare for messaging from media outlets surrounding immigration.

Homan said, "Immigration enforcement has always been controversial. It's always been emotional. I get it. But we're a nation of laws, and we're going to enforce those laws. If you come to this country illegally, that is a crime. I'm sick and tired of hearing illegal aliens commit less crimes than American citizens. Every illegal alien is a criminal."

Homan told Kirk that he has had a number of death threats made against him since being appointed by Trump and did not bring his family to the event.

"So the hate's coming," Homan said. "But we need to control the messaging. Right? So I've told President Trump that what we need to do, do a weekly press briefing. Let's show the American people who we arrested, why we arrested them. Let's show where we arrested them. What kind of bad guys we arrested in that sanctuary city."

Homan is going to be the Sheriff Grady Judd of the border.

Thanks Rump. Post election....

Thanks Biden. Last 4 years....
You are sadly a troll who steps on a rake every single time he opens his yap. Do you know how to read? Seriously? Do you. Or do you hope that you can make up something to toss against the wall and hope it sticks.

Thanks Rump, Post election he says. Then links this to support his "headline":

The Dow plunged Wednesday on a disappointing outlook from the Federal Reserve. In the process, the blue-chip index extended its losing streak to 10 days — the longest such stretch since Gerald Ford was president.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day down about 1,123 points, or 2.6%, after the Fed indicated in a policy statement that it is forecasting just two interest rate cuts in 2025, not the previously projected four. The Fed now anticipates inflation will remain stubbornly above its target range for longer than it had initially expected.

Back to a previous discussion about your economic illiteracy...this is a perfect example. Stay in your lane babysitter.

Used to say essentially this very thing when Dion would go on about how much more “educated” he was than everyone else on here. I used to say there is such a thing as being “over-educated” which is what most of academia are today.

Fauci my ass. It was a GD worldwide pandemic involving a novel coronavirus humans had almost no immunity to.
People were dying by the tens of thousands ACROSS THE GLOBE.
Yes it shut down the economy. Did government overcorrect in its response? Probably, but they were attempting to save lives.
You seem to have forgotten that even in deep red states the governors like Abbott and DeSantis imposed heavy restrictions for a period of time.
Masks were a minor inconvenience to us adults in the room.
Plagues have occured throughout mankind's history.
You sound just as idiotic in your blame of Democrats for Covid results as those that thought the the Bubonic Plague was caused by spirits and swamp gas.

This may be the most "sheep response" ever.

Sam going to the store during covid....

Price "gouging" is a loaded term. It is inflammatory and apparently works with simpletons. First off, you are exaggerating greatly about a cherry-picked statement by a Kroger exec that they had raised the price of eggs and milk "above the inflation rate." Is there some law that you wish to quote stating that a business cannot raise a price on an item by more than the published inflation rate? Seriously? This is completely a red herring. So what. If Kroger raises its price on eggs and milk....then freaking go nextdoor to Walmart to get them. That is how a free market works. Is there anything else I need to explain to you?

And somehow Nancy Pelosi and her husband continue to outperform the market as they become megaMillionaires. Why does your party and its POTUS allow insider stock trading by its leaders?

Well, if we're taking the gloves off (THANKFULLY) then I can breathe a little easier.

Jimmy Carter was, with regard to practical matters, a feeble-minded, indecisive pantywaist.

His foreign trade agreements penalized American farmers severely . Which, as a FARMER, he should have known better.
I deleted most of your outstanding post to focus on his farm policy. My dad is a now retired farmer, and when Carter imposed a grain embargo on the Soviet Union after their invasion of Afghanistan, it caused a major collapse in grain prices. This at a time of high inflation. It caused a lot of economic pain for farmers, our family included.

My dad never forgave Carter for that.

Oh yeah and gas went from the 30 to 75 cent range to the the $1.30- $1.40 range... Go figure how that happened... WITH rationing!...

It’s crazy how quickly the U.S., which was coined as a place of freedom, quickly grew government overreach.

Couldn’t have too much freedom. Had to create the income tax, had to create the surveillance state, had to get the IRS, had to get the government involved in every single aspect of your life. Genius idea.

While some of this had bipartisan support, the Democrat Party is overwhelmingly responsibly for all of this shit- the surveillance state and the progressive tax and welfare policies.

One could argue the New Deal was the initial cancer that killed this country.

Yeah, but colleges now grade on a large curve in order to keep people coming ($) and many of the studied subjects are useless and opinions based (social justice type) or not based in real facts. Follow the science lately means made up emotionally based findings that are not reality. It is more of a fictional world view of science and biology. Studies have now gone away from the traditional time proven facts and material to a new version of how I think it should be.

Assange may be you most quoted. Also, the subject of a lot of memes. Could Julian Assange live in Austin, Texas?

They all raised them in expectation of increased supply chain costs and scarcity. They knew those issues were supposed to come afterward. What they didn't do is pay their base suppliers any more than they had previously. So sales dropped and suppliers closed their doors (or were burned to the ground in many areas).

There is such a thing as price gouging, but it almost always coincides with a forced market shortage or monopoly on product availability. People buying up all the TPA so they can sell it online for 5 times the cost, is just one example.

Saw a couple people trying to buy 2-3 Kroger carts full of TP with either a food stamp or voucher program card back during the plandemic. Got into a shouting match with the staff and were going to try to walk out with it, until other customers spoke up. They wound up leaving without a single package of TP.
