Someone in the comments to Massie pointed out that would mean Congress would actually have to work. Not going to happen. Would solve a lot though.
These book deals have always been giant scams (money laundering). There is no logical reason to throw money at someone who isn’t that popular especially one who couldn’t beat Trump despite the machine behind them.
How many copies would they even have to sell to break even with the production cost and the substantial marketing costs that would be required for a $20M deal to the author? How many cat ladies are buying that up?

Tax reform is much more impactful on everyday Americans than the border or military spending. Republicans will without a doubt team up with democrats to enact retribution against middle America if they get their defense contractor payments first.
