People make a fetish out of choosing a doctor, but most people don't really get to choose their doctor. Have you tried switching doctors recently? My longtime (40 years) doctor just retired. I've never seen anyone in the same practice and have no idea if any of them have an opening. Several years ago, in my general practice, all the doctors moved out of state, retired, or switched to "concierge" practice, and the practice broke up. Good luck finding a GP.

One absolutely can pick a doctor. I picked one after getting tossed around within a hospital but I do pay extra for her. My wife and I both have a private doctor for $230/month. Can see her as often as needed, all labs, tests, X-rays, etc are included and insurance kicks in when I need to see a specialist of any kind.

And we're the only country in the world where there's such a thing as going bankrupt for medical bills. We were in Spain last year and I had to go to the hospital with an injury. The cost to me? The cost of the taxi ride to and from the hospital. (Don't try that in Canada. We're neighbors so there's no reciprocity with Canada.)

It is still amazing how they were able to get a sitting POTUS to essentially end his term 6 months early, while not resigning. Meanwhile, knowing full well that if they were to have a primary, Kamala would get destroyed like last time, because she would actually have to convey her platform. So, just circumvent the entire process and put her on the ticket. The fact that democratic voters allowed this while knowing they didn't get their best option for POTUS, is another sign of their ignorance.

Meanwhile, I’m a little nervous Trump, the lifelong NY democrat, is getting to cozy with other democrats. However, in the past few months I’ve heard hours of conversations on X or podcasts from Trump, RFK, Tulsi, etc. They’re willing to speak freely about what they believe in.

There are certainly Trump, RFK, Tulsi, Vance, etc. ideas I disagree with, but I respect the fact they’re willing to have open and honest conversations.

If the R party picked a candidate against the will of the R voters, kept him or her hidden from the public and refused to put forth any policy, no way in a million years would I vote for that person.
