It’s hard for me to believe you care about this country at all if you still can’t see it. The man who said he wouldn’t agree to a peaceful transfer of power. The man who directed white supremacist groups to stand by to commit political violence if he lost. The man who lost his re-election and attempted to suspend the Constitution. The man who schemed to circumvent the Constitution on Jan 6 to overturn the election with fake electors, then the plan was to have the military SHOOT AND KILL protestors.

It’s clear the Constitution means nothing to you and you desire a King who will run roughshod over political dissenters. You have no love for the United States of America and you want to see it destroyed. So the question is, what the hell is wrong with you?
Every single thing you ascribe to him is your OPINION of his actions. Not one of those things is more than your thoughts on what has occurred.

In reality, though, there’s this: Who has weaponized law? Who opens the borders? Who ignores SCOTUS rulings? Who threatens to pack the court and destroy the Senate? Who destroys the currency? Who says nothing when federal agencies are caught spying on a candidate, or promoting hoaxes about Russia, or lying about the origins of a laptop in order to influence an election?

And you talk about the Constitution. You all have moved the country one giant step towards dissolution with this. Since law now means nothing, I can only hope that you yourself are tried and convicted in similar circumstances as him.

Because that is what you’ve allowed to happen.

Is it? How many families actually eat like this?

My point wasn’t that it’s not doable. Convenience is king for most families juggling multiple jobs and raising kids. In that respect, our society doesn’t promote good food choices and caters to quick cheap and unhealthy.

Ever seen school lunches in poor districts vs wealthy? Heck even grocery stores in poor neighborhoods push garbage compare to higher income ones.

Loaf of store brand bread....$2.00
64oz Kroger Peanut Butter....$7.00
20 slices of bread in a loaf = 10 sandwiches
That's gonna be less than a buck a PB sandwich.
Throw in some carrot sticks and grapes and your kid is eating a fairly healthy lunch on the cheap.

I am not a lawyer and and have followed the case some, but not in depth enough to fully-understand it.

Several things that I do not get are:

1) If the Administration in Washington has as much influence over court cases as has been claimed, then how was Cohen tried and convicted in 2018 ?? In December 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in federal prison and ordered to pay a $50,000 fine. In February 2019, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, disbarred him from practicing law in the state. In May 2019, he reported to the federal prison near Otisville, New York.

2) Why didn't Trump's defense bring more witnesses to the stand to dispute the facts and evidence presented by the prosecution ?? They claimed Cohen lied and could not be trusted, I definitely get that, but it does not appear that they ever presented arguments to prove that Trump was not involved in directing the events.

3) Why didn't Trump take the stand to refute the prosecution claims and prove his innocence ??

4) If providing someone hush money is not a crime, as I've read where legal experts say it's not, why didn't Trump just pay Stormy Daniels with a personal check and be done with her ?? Why all the intermediaries ??

These are very simple questions I have and may be very naive and easily explained ... but what are peoples' thoughts on these ???

1) Trump wasn’t as corrupt as the Biden admin (for example Biden’s #3 in the DOJ went to work with Bragg).
2) you are presumed innocent and the judge refused to allow the defense to call witnesses to refute the prosecution’s lies about election law
3) because his lawyers aren’t insane and no one would have done that
4) was this not a payment from a trust? Billionaires generally aren’t paying their own bills. They hire people to do that, like Trump did. I work with plenty of very wealthy people who have family offices (or pseudo family offices) that handle their bill payment, certainly pay their legal invoices.

Yes doable for sure.

But you want healthier versions of any of that, it’s definitely going to be more expensive which is all I was saying. Wealthier people have access and ability for healthier food for the most part.

Is this a commie take? What am I missing here haha

They tried and were rejected by the judge

Costello former lawyer of Coen disputed all of this

Had Trump taken the stand one slight slip and they would have made it worse.

Percentage is EXACTLY how it should be viewed.
For example...in Wyoming 56 percent of all state revenue comes from the federal government. That means that the residents/businesses there only provide 44 percent of the necessary $$$ needed to run the state government. The percent of tax $$$ per person subsidized by the feds is much higher in Wyoming and Ky than California.
The Feds provide $6,718 dollars per person in Wyoming, $4,850 per person in Ky, and only $4,181 per person in California.
Nope. Those dollar figures are the most accurate for saying what the Feds provide (thx.). That CA & NY choose to spend out their a$$es on state government is irrelevant & thus warp your percentages evaluation. The WY $/person number is so high due to so few people while the Feds still need to still maintain many miles of Fed roads, and all the Fed land there. Net, there isn't a lot of difference per person. End of story.

They prevented the defense from calling witnesses? The only one I was aware was the expert which was a bad decision. Especially since they let the prosecution witness opine to the same fact. Afterwards the witness should've definitely been allowed.

Trump should've testified if he wanted to win his trial. Intent was key and he was the only one who could solidly rebut that element. There wasnt a downside to testifying unless his testimony would've been consistent with his guilt.

Yes I fully understand he has the right to not testify. The jury even gets instructed they are not to draw inferences from it. Yet it's very clear he needed to testify. It undoubtedly made a difference. Probably the difference.

You don’t vote for liars?

Aren't you a big Christian guy? What are your thoughts on cheating on your wife with a porn star and conducting financial fraud?

Let's assume Joe Biden is doing it. What would your take on the morality be?

This is not a "gotcha" question. I am genuinely asking. Obviously, you all realize the immorality of this. I don't know how as a Christian you can reconcile family values on the left hand with a President with a proven record of infidelity, lying, rape, cheating and showing zero remorse.

I feel like I’m generally on the same page with you, but not today.

Trump would make a terrible witness. The outcome was predetermined. I’ve read there are multiple significant, reversible errors.

The verdict was always going to be guilty, and Trumps would have rambled his way into a perjury trap.

The judge refused several witnesses for the Defense, that countered the Prosecution.

They didn't like what Costello was saying so the judge stopped cleared out the court room and stopped him from saying truth.

What was the judge's stated reasoning for refused witnesses?

That was some unhinged drivel, you need to have your head checked. What happened to Trump could never happen to me, I’m a beast I’ve never paid for pussy.

Welp, Trump sounded out of his mind in his little rant speech just now. He only speaks in phrases and rambles from grievance to grievance without ever making an actual point. He's lost about 20 steps since 2016.

That's a valid ? NO ONE KNOWS some much was done behind the scenes that we may never know. Trump can't say because he's still under gag order

It's absolutely a valid question. Judges strike evidence and witnesses all the time. It's not even slightly unusual.

Were they experts? I remember at least one excluded. I didn't remember lay witnesses.

It's absolutely a valid question. Judges strike evidence and witnesses all the time. It's not even slightly unusual. I'd actually say it more than a valid question. It's the critical question you're not answering or addressing as part of your argument.

He literally said it was a valid question no one knew the answer to you lunatic.

Maybe read better I said that's a valid ? that you asked.

Costello was Coens lawyer go back and listen to what he said about Coen and this situation.

LOL a judge strikes EVIDENCE?

He would've been a terrible witness that's for sure. He would've rambled on and probably caused a mistrial.

I guess it's just my preference the defendant testify when intent is a key issue. Anecdotally my criminal trials always got better results when my defendant testified.

I think we’re in unchartered territory with the top political opposition candidate being prosecuted at the apparent direction of the sitting president(‘s handlers) with a judge who has donated to the person the defendant is trying to unseat and whose daughter has a significant vested financial interest in the outcome, and a jury selected from a pool of people who know and hate the defendant at about a 9-1 ratio.
