Anything of value (politicians homes, banks, foreign dignitaries, embassies) the gov doesn’t hesitate to use armed security to defend. It’s a no brainer for the gov because it’s the most effective method of keeping something of value, safe.
Why should schools be any different? Because it’s more advantageous to use school shootings as political pawns in the R vs L power plays by our politicians than it is to simply apply the most effective, time tested, and trusted solution we’ve had for centuries.
It’s definitely a crisis with no end in sight. Instead of politicians spinning around trying to one up each other, we need something real, time tested and proven effective implemented like yesterday.
We can debate guns, mental health, point fingers, and we seem to have been doing this for the last 20 years while nothing changes. This is why I suggested what I did until we can figure something else out which seems still very far off as politicians are more concerned with the blame game than figuring out a fix.
Removal of the AR15 is not a realistic fix. There are many similar firearms that can inflict the same amount of damage. Removal of all guns is not even a realistic fix. Darrel Brooks didn’t have a firearm and instead used his SUV to mow down a Christmas parade. I think we need to look at motivations instead of the method. Firearms have existed for centuries but school shootings are a relative new thing in comparison. What’s changed in the last 20-25 years? I have my theories as do many, but let’s put an effective realistic solution in play until we can figure it out.

When society wakes up and understands any human being that wants to change their sex is mentally ill things might improve.
But many in society does the opposite. We have half of the nation who thinks it is OK. These cases should be treated as mental illness and society should help with treatment. We can't continue down this path as a nation. Mental illness must be identified and treated.
Treatment is the key to this national problem that is becoming a crisis.

Removing AR15s isn’t the only fix, I never argued that. But I think a solution involves everything, including taking murder machines out of the hands of the population. It’s clear in your response you’re not willing to bend when it comes to guns, that’s the problem. Blame everything else when guns are part of the problem too. We have a good % of the population that seems to be getting more insane all the time. In what world does it make sense to have AR15s so readily available for them to get their hands on?

Why should I bend? I’m a law abiding responsible gun owner. What does removing my firearms do for stopping school shootings? Do we take away your car because of the deaths due to drunk drivers? There’s plenty of laws on the books now and every administration adds more and chips away at the 2A. Pass a law that takes rights away from lawful people and does nothing to actually remedy the issue it hand. It’s false security wrapped up in a bill to make everyone feel good until the next shooting. Rinse and repeat.
Everyone knows there’s one effective way to end this but no one has the balls to admit it’s become necessary.
The AR15 didn't kill those kids, the deranged lunatic pulling the trigger did. What does my, or anyone else's, ownership of an AR15 have ANYTHING at all to do with what happened at that school? Why should any law abiding citizen who rightly owns and properly uses an AR15 be punished because of something a deranged lunatic does. A lack of access to an AR15 wasn't going to prevent that tragedy. It could have just as well been carried out with a 9MM pistol. but again, it wasn't the gun that killed those kids, it was the deranged lunatic pulling the trigger that did.
