Why is housing unaffordable? We have plenty of space. Why did Canada just ban foreign real estate purchasing? Do you understand how assets work? There is a lot more going on than just material and labor costs. Your "market forces" are designed and run by a handful of rich people who somehow make even more money in the midst of global emergencies like a pandemic when everyone else is taking a hit. The system is inherently unfair. It's about making the most money possible for a select group of people, not efficiently getting products(housing) into the hands of the people. It was designed that way by those people.

I transplanted one when they were really popular in the early 90s. Very pretty blossoms in the early spring. I planted it when it was not much more than a broomstick, but grew over the years to 35'. I had the weak variety. Our 09 ice storm took out a third of it. I didn't have the heart to take it down then because I already had 15 years invested and it was the first tree I ever transplanted.

Curious ... by what standard? Food available everywhere? Clean water (well, not in Dim sh1tholes)? Reliable air conditioning? Only have a 4G Cell phone? 3 bars on wireless? 2 minute line for a crappy frappy? This is really the crux of the problem the US has ... we have it SO GOOD in this country that your generation has failed to understand what "NEED" really is.
