Rome, Greece, Egypt, Persia, Britain... they all reached a point where they were the #1 currency and then they weren't, and they quickly suffered after that.

It isn't a minute change. You could only buy oil in US dollars until last year. Now you are able to buy oil in Yuan, Ruble, gold, Silver and a couple other forms of exchange. Even countries that would align with US interest are signing on to Brics new petrol exchanges because they just can't trust our State Dept to not come in and screw up their economy.
