I think you missed the part where he said The TRump administration and the GoP were also directly contacting twitter for the exact same thing. So both sides were doing it. Most of the interal emails of government officials contacting twitter are from 2019 and 2020. But is any of this some new phenomenon? No. this happened with newspapers, radio, and tv.
