The Supreme Court finally gave up defending a decision with convoluted reasoning that fabricated rights in the constitution that don't exist, but allowed the SC to take action to correct a perceived wrong where legislatures did not.
Now it is time for your elected representatives (federal and state) to step into the void that the SC filled and then vacated and DO YOUR JOBS. Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, if this matters to you, you should be telling your elected representatives how you feel. We are a representative democracy.
I keep seeing polls that declare the majority of people support abortion...why is the legislature not following? Either those polls are accurate, and there is a major disconnect on this subject in our representative democracy that needs to be fixed immediately...or the polls are simply inaccurate and our representative democracy is working as it should.
With the amount of money Planned Parenthood has been slinging at liberal politicians for decades, it's not like the religious right has some stronghold on wielding political influence to support their causes. Do we seriously believe that the will of the people is being suppressed?
I seriously doubt it. Remember, the people who respond to polls are solicited, and actively decide to respond to polls. Most people have better things to do. The type of people who respond to such polls are NOT representative of Americans.
So don't be misled. The media wants you to believe that the decision was against the will of the people. I don't believe that to be the case. The decision is the correct decision based on the constitution. The Supreme Court did its job. Now its time for our elected representatives to do theirs.
