Mel was a great friend of mine. I was an original moderator on the WCF football forums. WCF had to go to Wildcatnation because of Mel’s sisters stepping in and mucking things up after his death. Not a lot is left of WCN, I started the Wildcatfaithful tailgates back in 1999 that continue today as Wildcatnation tailgates. Miss Mel a lot.
I attended several of the WCF tailgates at Commonwealth. I had to drive a long way but it was worth it and fun. There were some great people and posters on the Old Wildcat Faithful forums. I see some of them over here.

Mel set me up for an interview on WLAP with Dick Gabriel to discuss being a UK fan living out of state.

I was very close to Mel in my former life. Wonderful, giving man.

We worked a long time with the now forgotten basketball museum. The story behind what happened after his death and the relationship to this Rivals site is pretty amazing and a lost opportunity. One day I’ll go into details. Thanks for the look back.

Yeah I don't know if this is real or not. Hawking must have been from a very southern part of England.

9.5% of Americans are putting gas on credit cards now. Up from 5% last quarter. Interest rates are going up.... I guess those 10% of Americans just have to lose everything for a green economy.

Yes. The bankers’ line right now is that your wage increases will cover higher mortgage payments.

Bull.

The bankers hold your mortgage and your credit card.

They know what they are doing.

People are going to be putting their heating and cooling bills on credit too.

American debt loads will be at historic heights post-Christmas.

What I remember was his sister, Patty, and how she seemed to hasten the downfall of that, site, after Mel’s death.

@trueblujr2

2-0 final score tonight. Guess who was zero?

OK, so why is it now that i’m no longer able to attach gifs giving @TheFrontRunner the finger or any other kinda image or media attachments? All the things that facilitate that are grayed out. Anything I try just becomes a stupid hyperlink. Anybody else having this issue? Particularly on their phones or tablets?

I have never spent a penny at nor will I ever spend a penny at Starbucks.

With that said, I would be proud to take a dump there.
I think I've had their coffee once. In a Krogers and the Mrs wanted one...I argued about the price (too much for me...plus throw in their politics)....but she won. The worse cup of coffee I think I've ever had. Had a very burnt taste.

Get used to this insane ramping up of the whole White Supremacist gaslighting all summer leading up to the election. They are going to push the divisive rhetoric over the cliff. If all you listened to was them, you’d think it was like it was a hundred years ago. It’s getting sickening what the left is hell bent on doing to their political opponents to keep power.

And one of the jan 6 protesters was charged with felony assault for throwing a bottle of water.... Anyone still backing this farce is an idiot.
The gaslighting and two tiered justice is sickening. It’s all a farce. An act of terrorism, my ass. We’re any shots fired by protesters? ANY? We’re any bombs set off? Did any protesters kill anyone? Did the Capital Police ALLOW protesters to enter, even holding the doors open for them? It’s disgusting we have a government allowing this ruse to go on.

Mel was a good guy. Had many phone convos with him later in his days as he faced some disappointment. His funeral was much smaller than it should have been. He brought a lot of community to UK fans at a time when there were limited options. It would have been nice to see more of those people at his funeral, IMO.

My wife likes Starbucks….. me not so much. As OC states, their coffee is overpriced and I definitely don’t like their politics. She used to get $25 gift Starbucks gift cards, but I have since talked her out of that spending habit.

Unfortunately I’ve been dragged into Starbucks more than once. o_O

Hearsay it is. And, you wonder if Cheney and this person have the same anonymous source. Does that count as double sourcing for the reporter? That said, who does not believe Trump is capable of such a comment? His own behavior makes it believable.
And even if it was said, it was lonely an off the cuff remark about Pence going against him. Not that he literally meant Pence should be tried and publicly hanged in the town square. But we all know everything any Republican says is to be taken literally, while Dems just speak in euphemisms.

That means we’ve crossed paths then. We’ve had some great tailgates and a lot of fond memories have been made. I’ve gotten to meet a lot of great people along the way.

Were you at the WCN tailgate for the LSU game last season? My wife and I were there…. She was wearing her LSU gear (she’s from La. and is a big LSU fan).

Mel was very resistant to selling out. I think it partly led to his demise and stress level. He could have made some good money for himself, but had the desire to keep WCF free and open to all without the commercialism.

Yes, she did. She was the reason they had to separate from her and switch names. She had control of the WCF name and got greedy.

Yep, I was there. Rick, Dennis and myself get there at 7:00 AM regardless of the game time to set up. I recall seeing her but not sure we got to talk. My wife probably talked to her though. She’s a social butterfly. Lol.

Are you saying the mods should lock it?

Who are the people supporting this man’s right to dominate in women’s swimming? He says he wants to go to the Olympics. Should he be able to compete for a spot on the woman’s team? This issue and those who support a man who wants to identify as part woman is oppressive to the women who must support a lie and compete against a man. Seems like a topic that is still ripe.
Dominate is an interesting choice of words. She won one single race and didn’t place in the others she raced it. That hardly sounds like dominating to me. To hear you tell it, she won every race by the length of the pool.

Huh? I think most people pay at the pump with credit cards. Everyone at Costco has to. I get a 2% discount - which is more & more very day. :(
