You can find a few folks still near top of the game in their mid-70s. I talk to those folks daily.

But my mother also lost control of her finances when she hit early 70s because dementia set in. Agree on term limits.

Not sure age for most of them is the issue. AOC is pretty young. Mayor Pete and Beto are young. Lots of young dumbasses on the left. Trump is as old as old joe but he’s as sharp as anyone.

I knew when I wrote that post that some here would be very much not in favor, but it is true. We need term limits at the very least. I also realize that not everyone becomes incapable at the age of 75, 80, or even 90, but most have some degree of mental, and or, cognitive issues by that age. Stress makes it much, much, worse. There is a reason the FBI has an mandatory retirement age, and it is very low.

To the point about Trump. AOC and Beto are morons who have an agenda. Not the same. Also, Trump is not as sharp as you might like to think. That fact became very apparent watching him debate dumbo in the presidential debates. He missed multiple opportunities to torpedo dumbo's points but his mind just wasn't fast enough to capitalize.

Why do we let old people run the show in this country? I mean, seriously. We have 80+ year old people making life altering decisions in this country and it is insane. I had to assume control of my dad's finances when he was in his early eighties. Why? Because he was making very bad financial choices that were affecting his and my mother's futures. He was also easy to trick and manipulate. You could sell him anything and he wanted to buy everything. I see the same behavior out of many elderly to different degrees. That's why they are the number one target for scammers.

I understand that not everyone ages at the same rate, but damn, there comes a point where you shouldn't be making financial decisions on your own....much less for everyone else. It's past time for age and term limits because at this point the staff members have to be running and manipulating things. I don't remember electing any of them.

Putting an 80 years of age limit on anyone working in/for/elected to government is a good idea to me. Particularly, would limit Trump to two years in office if elected again.
