Pretty foolish, really when you think of the fact that politicians don't come up with this stuff on their own. They simply do what they told. They're just a face for corporations/lobbyists who say and do what their advisors and handlers tell them. Taking a figurehead out does absolutely nothing for policy change or what have you. So many of these D.C. politicians are like this. Take Biden for example, he's not in charge of anything. He's a mascot. He signs what he's told.
