No idea where the NYT got their numbers, but the WSJ today says this:

"The 2020 census on net missed about 0.24% of the U.S. population, or about three-quarters of a million people, the Census Bureau said Thursday in releasing a key report card on the accuracy of the count."

Huge difference between missing 18M & 0.75M.

As much as I bashed government above, I believe the WSJ over NYT any day.

I want LESS government telling you to turn in your neighbor for seeking an abortion or turn in parents of trans kids (Texas) or turn in your teacher for discussion of a topic like "gay" that may or may not ever come up in class (Florida). It reminds me of communist Russia or China with KGB watching you always.
I want LESS government telling you how to live your life, what you chose to do with your own body, who you chose to marry, or what sex you identify as.
I'm all about individual liberties including gun rights (just more background checks) and the right to be free from crime and big government.

If you believe all that then you should clearly understand that if a straight person (teacher, neighbor, mail carrier) was trying to get little kids (in high school it would be through 12th grade) to talk about sex, it’s grooming. There’s no way around that.

First off, gender and sexuality are two completely different things. This was a discussion about gender dysphoria/trans laws not sexual relations involving children. Not sure why some on here are so obsessed with pedophilia....It's just bizarre.
Secondly I'm not saying 7 year old kids should have life altering surgery to change their sex. I think they should have to wait until age 18 for that.
But a teenager deciding to take hormones under the care of a doctor and with their parental permission should be an option imo and not punishable by jail for life.

This is a discussion about a child’s cognitive and rational ability to make choices that have life altering physical/mental consequences involving a topic that a huge majority of children change their mind on. You can’t see the forest for the trees though. Even in the idiotic liberal sense of gender, sexuality and gender are related as they influence each other with societal norms. You’re just one of the ones who keep bringing up children so others respond with it. It’s insane to allow people without a developed brain or body to take life altering hormones. We don’t give teens anabolics because they have body dismorphia and the FDA doesn’t allow cosmetic plastic surgery for underage teens. It’s just another way to pass the buck on mental health and anyone who thinks it should be allowed should seek help for their own mental health.

Not sure what specific call to arms you are referring to but I have no problem with Big Tech calling for violence against Russian soldiers in Ukraine.
Russians are bombing schools, civilian neighborhoods, churches and maternity hospitals. The Ukrainians are in direct combat for their lives and the US with NATO is in a proxy war with Putin right now.
If the Jews and Europe as a whole had fought back harder initially....the Holocaust may have never happened.
