Absolutely. The far left stuff you hear about teachers on right wing media every day are taken from extreme examples that occur in some large cities. They are outliers compared to what is going on across the vast majority of schools all across the country every day. I've had my own family members ask me about why we've stopped saying the Pledge, don't allow God to be mentioned, teach CRT, etc. NONE of that is going on in the schools in Ky I've taught in.
But if you listen to the right wing news propaganda.... They don't say that. They paint all teachers as radical far left commies who are trying to indoctrinate our nation's children.
Like I said....it's the same playbook the far left uses against the police. Painting every instance of police misconduct as all cops are racist and abusive to black people.
Both parties use the false narratives to get votes.
The left needs the minority vote in the cities....the right needs the rural and suburban vote. Anger and scare black people into thinking cops are all out to kill them. Anger and scare all the white people into thinking the teachers are coming for their children.
It's all BS.
Not one story I’ve ever read about teachers paints all of them with a broad brush. Every one I’ve ever read IDs the teacher, the district , and what the teacher or district did or said.

I’d be interested to read some “right wing news propaganda” that says all teachers are radical far left commies if you can post one.

Of course you would. Because the right’s never been supportive of worker movements or rights. The white working class is just so bigoted they’re willing to side with the boot on their neck rather than a coalition that includes gays and brown people.
The other way to look at this is the fact the Democrat party has driven them away due to an obsession over identity politics and policies that offend their values - illegal immigration, de-funding the police, abortion on demand, the trampling of religious liberty, etc. etc.

There's a re-shuffling of constituencies taking place in real time right now. Conservatives still have much work to do, but I sense an ongoing embrace of the regular working person in the GOP that you won't find in today's Democratic Party. Democrats sneer at white working people as "Trump Trash" and are now the party of intellectually dishonest social justice platitudes, confiscation of wealth to serve the government, etc. And don't preach to me about how liberal Dems are more tolerant and inclusive.... they're every bit as close-minded as any conservative ever thought about being and probably more so.

Being shot at makes this guy suddenly sound pretty conservative. Guess seeing first hand what liberal insanity does might change one's mind.

Personally of all the candidates running I think he's about the best that city can hope for. Ya he'll still do much of the crazy stuff but it sure sounds like he will try to stop crime and be pro business.
attempt murder on Monday, out on Wednesday.

But remember , the justice system is systemically racist.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha...look who suddenly gives a hot sht about worker rights...the same guy whose side is sucking the corporate d**ks who are firing thousands of people for not wanting a vax and the Canadian government who's trampling on truckers and calling them racist Nazis. And you can take your 'racism' bullsht and shove it so far up your dirt chute that you can taste it. Nobody listens to that crap anymore, you've been crying wolf for so long you've overextended the 'race card.'

There is a big difference between salaried positions and flipping burgers like you do.

I was about to say, salaried exempt people have no clock. We work until the work is done and done right each day/week. I work in payroll and I try to work 730-430 with 30 minute lunch break in there. I probably work 42.5-45 hours a week so nothing crazy...now when I was a payroll manager at my last couple of jobs I got into some 50-55 hour weeks and that grinds on you over the years. I moved back to a payroll analyst position, 100% remote, and never been happier with my job as the last 3+ months. It is a little less money annually, but a lot less headache.

There was a good video posted on here a week or so ago of an interview with Victor Davis Hanson. He explained the paradigm shift really well.

Guys, you all misunderstood me, I wasn't comparing the two, just saying I wasn't a fan of their nonsense and attempts to censor anything as well. Guess it came out wrong a bit. My bad.
Use of the word censor is misguided. Religious right was not in a position to “censor” anything. Of course they were going to speak out against things like pornography and other things they deem objectionable.

the crusades, the salem witch trials, the scientific purges(still happening), the billions of forced marriages of kids(still happening), the treatment of women as slaves to men(still happening), the eradication of south america, the eradication of indians, and on and on and on and on. yea, those Christians sure to do have a history of tolerance! ! !

Victor Davis Hanson explains the shift very well in this interview

Once they reach the point of harming millions of people, which is what is happening with factory shutdowns and what not, I'd crush them under my boot. Their personal beliefs don't give them the right to cause so much damage. They need to find another way.
Do you feel that same way about union strikes? When they shut down big automotive plants, etc. Should the government be allowed to come in and crush them under the boot? The disrupt a lot more jobs than just the plant they are striking in front of (suppliers, customers, etc).

The company should simply replace them. If they were acting in a similar manner to the truckers, yes, remove them in whatever way is most expedient.

I’m with BBFGA, refuse to do that no matter how bad they say crap about me, it’s a message board 🍺
I ignore them. It’s no different than never watching CNN or any other MSM. I’m not going to engage with them so why clutter up my screen with their talking points. It’s not like they ever put forth any original ideas. They don’t have any.

100%

My last job was technical training manager, the hours were crazy, high pressure, and someone was always unhappy with something.

So I decided to leave that position and get back in the classroom and training lab.

I am still salaried exempt. However, my hours are far better, still put in more than 40 every week.

I work at home when I am not conducting in-person training classes and love my work/life balance.

As a Senior Technical Trainer in the sensing technology and automation world, there is always something new to learn and prep for class.

It takes a lot of time and effort that is not "on the clock."

I spend a lot of nights and weekends learning and practicing for class. I do not mind, and it keeps me somewhat away from the TV.

I have close to the perfect job for someone like me. I get paid decent money to learn neat stuff and talk about it all day.

Speaking of which, back to putting together a Smart Automation and Monitoring System (SAMs) course. :)

I just scroll thru it but I do like to read how out of touch they are with the regular working American men women and children and by children I mean I started working shrimp boats at 12 even after little league games on Saturday. I learned a lot from those guys about life 🍺 nothing is given, it’s earned 🍺

if you are working off the clock then your a ****ing idiot. The company can pay you for your time.
As a retired educator I would say most teachers I worked with over my career never minded working ball games, dances, extracurricular events outside of school until recently.
When they felt like it benefited the kids it was all worth it.
But now that those same kid's parents are calling them overpaid, worthless, lazy indoctrinators....and voting for politicians that call them overpaid, worthless, lazy indoctrinators....it just feels like a big slap in the face.

Are you pissed you couldn’t hang BLM, LGBTQ, Antifa flags in your classroom back then ? So sad 🍺🇺🇸

The lack of truck drivers has been going on For the last decade. Has nothing to do with Biden. The last few generations don't like long haul driving and as the 2 generations before that all retire the truck driver drought gets worse and worse. The bounce back from low demand is just making the issue 10x worse. If you want to help go drive a truck.

How about professional development hours, i.e., changing technologies and subject matter that "your" company implements? Actually, it would probably be industry-wide changes.

I am asking in regards to technicians and maintenance people. I am genuinely interested in different viewpoints on this type of "work."

I have worked with individuals who would not learn or prep for any new tech unless they were on the clock.

I would be concerned my skillset would become obsolete.

Typical brainwashed Fox News viewer. Don't believe me about what teachers do every day and what goes on in schools?? Go volunteer at your local school, sign up to sub or drive a school bus.
The right lies about our teachers. The left lies about our cops.
It's all based on a few extremist stories they scour the country searching for every day. It's all BS.
Never gone a day without saying the Pledge. Never heard a teacher tell kids to be gay or trans. Never seen an LGBTQ or Antifa flag in a school. Participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and prayer around the flagpole every week. Was never told not.
Nothing you see on Fake News every day goes on at any school I taught at in Kentucky in four different counties over 32 years.
Buncha BS lies to scare and anger the gullible right wing voters.
