So you didn't read it. That is going off a new story of events. He was trying to contact wikileaks to get some inside dirt. Wikileaks hated him and told him to piss off. Stone was trying to look like he was cool so he was saying he knew stuff he didn't know. Saying a new leak was coming was kinda known. Wikileaks said they had tons more and thats what they do. He didn't cover up anything. He turned over 10ish electronic devices. He had switched phones a year earlier and didn't think that some text would be deleted in the switch. The proof is that the text exchange they nailed him on was wikileaks telling him to quit acting like he knew them or they'd go after him and that they thought he was an asshole. That was his only contact with wikileaks.
He needed the pardon because the fbi got one of friends on other charges and his options were to frame Stone or go to pound in the ass prison. He chose to not get raped.

Here's what I think is going on (And maybe it's already obvious to everyone): MM is so pissed at Trump over Trump calling him out over various issues and because MM was a victim Jan. 6 - meaning had to be evacuated & the Prez formality vote stopped - that he will do everything he can to stop Trump from being nominated again. MM is not going to back down from a fight.
Net, I think MM will announce he is resigning from Senate at the end of 2023 soon after the 2022 elections & won't run for any Senate leadership position. This will give the Senate Pubs a clean sheet to set new Senate leadership. Waiting till the end of 2023 to leave will let the new KY Governor pick his replacement from the list the KY Pub Party gives the Gov - new law in last 2-3 years. The list could be different depending on who the new Gov. is & gives the KY Pubs a year to figure out who will be on the list. The timing also gives replacement candidates two years to decide & campaign.
But most of all, being out of leadership & a lame duck will free MM to totally hammer Trump continually in an effort to derail Trump. Should be a fun fight.
I won't defend that. I am not a Kamala Harris fan. Never have been. Just another example of a politician like Trump, Waters and Harris sending explicit and implicit messages that violence is ok as long as it's violence that is done by "people who vote for me". It's dangerous as hell for our country and our democracy.
We need new leadership in the Democratic and Republican parties. The RNC declaring that the Jan 6th Capitol riot was "Legitimate Political Discourse" is a green light to the rioters and saying they were only talking about the non violent part of the crowd is BS....just like Harris saying she was just wanting the peaceful protesters bailed out is BS. It's sending mixed signals from the top leadership of both parties.
I happily voted out Trump....will happily vote out Biden as long as Trump isn't the alternative and will keep voting out these clowns who are unfit to lead our country.
