In the hearing yesterday when the prosecutor tried to go into excluded territory, the defense only threatened to make such a motion next time he did something like that. Maybe they filed one in afterthought but that was a true waste of time if they didn't make one at the moment
Maybe. The entire notion of a mistrial is that the jury is so tainted that the trial can't possibly go forward out of constitutional 6th amendment concerns. If you don't make the oral motion immediately, can easily see how an appellate court would rule the issue was waived.
What I saw in some larger trials was I make the motion, the judge reserves ruling, the trial continues, and we brief the matter before submission to the jury or before the jury returns.
It's really really tough to get a mistrial in a high profile criminal case.
The Mrs. was like this to a 'T'. When she was working all she focused on was the job and keeping her part of the house on schedule/in order. When I met her she was a Dem, not hard core...but leaned Dem due to how she was raised (had an ancestor years ago who ran as a D for Senator in Ohio). Her only news source was in the car listening to her C&W channel on the hour and half hour. When I would mention something...from a conservative standpoint...she would poo poo it.
Now, couple of years after she retired, more time to watch/listen...she has long morning walks with a friend who is very conservative....she has become a fire breathing conservative who hates eveything Dem...Biden and the rest...and was/is Trump's biggest fan. Makes me look like a RINO...and I've always told people that I'm to the Right of Rush.
All because she began to pay attention.

The best awakenings for someone is to simply be surrounded by the left's craziness and actually pay attention to it. The more information you have, the more conservative you will become. The less info you have, you're going to 100% be on the Dem train and that's why a lot of the women who don't pay attention to politics go left. They get a snippet of news from Snapchat and social media (Run by lefties) with zero focus on anything the Democrats have done.
When I didn't know shit about politics in my late teens and early 20s, guess what political affiliation I identified with? Democrat. Guess which party I switched to once I actually researched and started to pay attention to everything?

Like the article above, the story isn't that Democrats have absolutely destroyed the economy with their policies (after intentionally tanking a striving economy with covid last year during an election year and then implementing their agenda this year), it's that Republicans will point it out.
I expect this shit so does everyone that knows how Democrats are. But what really pisses me off are these DNC propagandists referring to themselves as "reporters" and "journalists." Nope. A legit journalist would take every politician and political party to task but they don't. She sounds just like your wife before she started paying attention. Focused on work and kids, has a good heart, raised in a left leaning home and is apolitical so she doesn’t keep up too much. All she sees are headlines and horrible takes on Facebook until I introduce what the media left out/twisted.
I will say Biden is so horrible even she sees it. She admitted to me the other day that she thinks things would be better had Trump won... and she couldn’t stand Trump.
I'm not. But I definitely took a conservative position vs the pending downturn. It makes zero sense why the market is where it is. It should've been much lower for awhile. That's what will make the correction so sudden and painful

A group of Houthi rebels reportedly stormed the U.S. compound on Wednesday seeking "large quantities of equipment and materials," according to regional reports translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute. The raid comes just five days after the Houthis kidnapped Yemeni nationals who work for the U.S. embassy. "The alleged raid comes after the Houthis kidnapped three Yemeni nationals affiliated with the U.S. Embassy from one of the employee's private residences in Sana'a on November 5," according to MEMRI. At least 22 other Yemenis were kidnapped by the Houthis in recent weeks, "most of whom worked on the security staff guarding the embassy grounds," according to MEMRI.
The State Department confirmed to the Free Beacon that the Yemeni staffers are being detained without explanation and that the Iran-backed militants stole property after breaching the American facility in Sana'a, which housed U.S. embassy staff prior to the suspension of operations there in 2015.
"The United States has been unceasing in its diplomatic efforts to secure their release," a State Department spokesman told the Free Beacon. "The majority of the detained have been released, but the Houthis continue to detain additional Yemeni employees of the embassy."
Those still being held are "detained without explanation and we call for their immediate release," the State Department spokesman said.
Among those who were kidnapped and held by the Houthis include a former embassy employee, an economic officer, and a U.S. Agency for International Development employee, according to MEMRI.
