Peach Jam thread; Today 4 pm ET on ESPN2 for the 17U Title

Going into the 4th Quarter.....Shaedon Sharpe's team is down 55-50.

He's got 24 pts on 9-14 FG, 4/5 3pt, 2-3 FT, and 8 Rebs.

The 2nd best player for UPlay Canada (DJ Jackson) hasn't been playing so speculation is that it's Covid related.

Sharpe keeping UPlay in game against a better team in DriveNation with Vincent Iwuchukwu and has almost half their pts. Guy is an unreal talent.

Fair to say he’s made his case for #1 in the class. And it’s a really good one.

this class seems to have some elite guards/ Small Forwards
which ones do you all think we get?

Skyy (committed, does he stick?)
Sharpe?
Wallace?
Smith Jr.?
Miller?
Livingston?

Team Final beats NJ Scholars 73-63 and advances to the Quarterfinals with a 4-0 record and they play later tonight against team who is 2nd in their Pool now but both will make it no matter what so that game is meaningless in terms of advancing to the Quarters.

Jalen Duren had 8 pts 2-3 FG, 4-6 FT, 9 Rebs, 5 Blocks, 3 Assists to 0 TO, in 21 mins of play

Dereck Lively II had 15 pts, 6-8 FG, 3/5 3pt, 6 Rebs, 2 Blocks and 1 assist in 24 Mins of play

DJ Wagner had 15 pts, 7-21 FG, 1/5 3pt, 3 Rebs, 3 Assists to 2 TO's in 31 mins of play

Mackenzie Mgbako had 23 pts, 8-16 FG, 5/10 3pt, 2-3 FT, 3 Rebs, 2 Steals in 28 mins of play

The NJ team is pretty young correct ?

Bradley Beal Elite will advance to Quarterfinals tomorrow with a 10 pt win over Albany City Rocks

Nick Smith Jr was star of their game this afternoon with 30 pts on 11-14 FG, 4/5 3pt, 4-4 FT, 4 Rebs, 2 Assists, and 1 Steals. Did all of this in 24 Mins.

Brandon Miller had 6 pts on a rough 3-13 FG, 0-2 3pt, 8 Rebs, and 3 Assists and 3 blocked shots.

So far the major UK targets who have advanced to Quarterfinals tomorrow are Team Final (Jalen Duren/Dereck Lively II), Pro Skills (Cason Wallace) and Bradley Beal Elite (Brandon Miller/Nick Smith Jr).

Shaedon Sharpe's team has an outside chance but they have to beat Boo Williams. Meanstreets and DriveNation both have to lose and Meanstreets has a tough opponent but DriveNation should beat Team Melo and end up advancing for the win they had over UPlay Canada earlier this morning. But with teenagers you never know, so control the outcome you can control and get the win and hope for some help. in case of Team Melo, they need Cam Whitmore to go off and take it to DriveNation.

Having watched UPlay Canada without DJ Jackson to help Sharpe, Shaedon should get major considering for carrying this awful team as far as he has to this point and Jackson should get a bump in rankings for helping Sharpe out.

UPlay was up 18-14 at end of 1st Quarter and playing through Sharpe for most part. Then the team decided "We'll show everyone it's not a one man team" and score is Boo Williams 42, UPlay Canada 29 at the Half of a must win game.

Sharpe has 13 pts, 5-12 FG, 1-5 3pt, 2-2 FT, 1 Reb.

Shaedon Sharpe ends his EYBL AAU career with a loss to Boo Williams and they are out from consideration to make Quarterfinals. Sharpe had 20 pts, 7-18 FG, 2/7 3pt, 4-4 FT, 3 Rebs, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot. In Sharpe's last 3 games of EYBL he combined to shoot 32-64 from the field as a 6'5 Wing. That's outstanding on it's own, but considering he was focal point of opponents gameplan due to the team he was on having little else, it's even more impressive.

Not sure what the plan is for the last week of July--know NCAA is granting coaches 2 days at NBA Top 100 Camp which will feature 60 players but noticed UK scheduled another Camp of their own on one of the days the NCAA is allowing recruiting to take place so not sure what's going on with that?

Last week of July used to be where everyone headed to Vegas and you saw guys play with each other from different AAU Shoe Circuits, and just have fun all week. But this is a different recruiting year and EYBL took so long I won't be surprised to see most top prospects shut it down and focus on recruiting/options they have.

According to Jake Weingarten, Kentucky had 2 coaches not just watching Kaleb Glenn for Bradley Beal Elite's 16U team but also their PG Layden Blocker-who is known as one of the fastest/quickest players in country no matter what class. He's a class of '23 PG prospect.

Blocker is one of the kids UK called early when that was allowed.
